If you're going to get a HD7, do remember to check out my Windows Phone 7 User FAQ for some essential information regarding how you should deal with what Live ID to associate with the phone.

GREAT piece of information and effort you have done. I must say all potential WP7 buyers should read before deciding to invest in WP7

Yeah, that and accidentally locking your Live ID in a different country and having problems buying stuff next time.

The country for marketplace is determined by your billing account country and not the phones.

Its something Xbox live users should be familiar with

I'm sure you guys have heard the battery conditioning tip before, run it close to death and recharge for a few times and see how it is after a few rounds.

Before that... get more micro USB cables to charge in the office and in the car.

Unfortunately WP7 doesn't have a MAXIMUM brightness for auto brightness unlike the iOS. It has auto brightness, but it switches between 0 ~ 100% so doesn't help much if you're always in bright areas.

As mentioned by most ppl, smartphones use more power. I myself nearly killed my phone by watching too much Halo Waypoint videos on 3G yesterday. Just make it a habit of keeping it plugged in when you can by buying more cables to connect your phone (remember, only USB Micro cable will do) and also.. car chargers (Try and get something that's meant for the iPad, those usually put out 2A of current its possible to charge faster)

Hmm.. what region did you select for your Live ID when you entered the Marketplace? Cause it's there in my Singapore one.

Its because all the tones that are built into the phone are the soft and mellow type... wish they at least put something that screams "Pick up your phone now!"

Well I definetly won't be able to manage and take care of a thread. Tried that last time.. didnt work out too well tongue.gif

Added on December 1, 2010, 1:36 pmI would suggest having a top level general Windows Phone 7 thread, as well as the usual device specific threads?

No one has officially confirmed the MASSIVE update that's coming, so try not to be too disappointed if it doesn't meet ur expectations.

Experienced this when your network data connectivity is spotty, the marketplace application gets confused on wheter or not it has completed the download of info.

Only got this once so far, you're seeing it alot? Recently? On what Telco?

Not only are there free apps, if the paid app has a trial available you'll see both a TRY and a BUY button at the bottom, we can also download trial mode without CC

I'm on maxis, not quite often, but I got this 3 times already ever since I was using it...i think it might have been the connectivity problem...the battery is draining like 25% in an hour sleep.gif and what do u guys think about side loading the 3rd party apps using the chevronWP7 as in jailbreaking, is it safe?
*
Can't comment much on the battery area, personally I just keep all these smartphones plugged in whenever possible.

As for Chevron, its already been pulled. It should be safe but MS did give the usual do it on your own risk warning.

If you're using the Chevron tool then you can unload to sideload homebrew apps.

yjackh : if you can, give it until February cause the 1st update is coming in January supposedly n there might be some goodies in there. To enable turn by turn on maps check out my FAQ, though its only a little help. And the lag u see in the Facebook app could very well be contributed by the slow disk speeds of the hd7.

Kikokiko : performance wise, try n compare between hd7 n LG first. For some nagging issues that u might want to be aware of before buying. Check my FAQ .

One is Android, One is WP7. Cant really compare, each platform will have its own supporters sayings what's better than the other.
