when you oc, the QPI has actually not at the default value already..
QPI, DRAM, and uncore is all base on bclk..this is well understood already..
as i stated earlier, for example the default bckl for i7 920 is 133 and default QPI multi 18..so there goes the QPI link/rate of 4.8GT/s..you can derived this this multiply the 133x18x2=4788Mhz (almost 4800mhz as intel rate for it's i7 920 QPI link)..if you look the QPI link via CPU tweaker, it will disregard the x2 factor, so, 2394 will be shown..
at this moment, you default dram speed is 1066, and thus uncore will be 2132..there goes the the ratio of 8:9 (uncore:QPI)..
when oc, if you set your bclk to 200, (for instance to get cpu speed of 4.00g's) the QPI speed will be 200x18(slow mode)x2=7200mhz..at this time your QPI speed is 3600..if you let your dram speed on default at this point, the ratio is not 8:9 right..??..
that's why uncore and dram need to be increase too when oc..
