haiz... my timing belt and radiator belt now got bird chirping sound (cit cit cit) already. Sometimes quite loud also. Might be some bolts there longgar already sad.gif
*
timing belt will never emit such sounds. its the accessory belt (that one big piece of belt that drives the water pump, alternator, aircond compressor & power steering.

mine is also starting to chirp! hahaha.... solution is easy. spray some silicone lubricant on it (contact side) OR scrape some candle wax on it. It works every time for me. Driven many cars before.... so this is how i solve it all the time. NEVER EVER USE WD40 as it deteriorates the rubber properties.

No point changing to new belt just because of this. Waste money. Can be solved very easily with my methods.

anyone of u guys using HID(High Intensity Discharge) light on ur persona?
*
-most will not use it as it is 100% illegal unless the car comes with it like current Waja version with HID stock units or import cars etc.
-even white emitting headlight bulbs are also illegal. Kena before already.

QUOTE(shacxz @ Oct 24 2010, 08:43 AM)
please don't.. you're blinding the person in front...
*
-this highly depends on if the HID is fitted properly or not. Because usually HID have a small reflector fitted just right above the HID bulb (barely noticeable) then the light emitting will be controlled and focused rather than those f***ing idiots having it fitted but didnt fit the reflector for it causing much discomfort to other drivers coming from the other side..... f*** you man whoever you are. hope u crash. "klok klok" sound on front driver area near absorber still persist....
*
there's a new "klok klok" sound in my persona now. its nothing to do with the orifice valve or similar. this sound im super sure what it is since i experienced it a lot in my ex myvi with the same exact problem.

i dunno if you all hear the same "klok klok" as me or not wink.gif

so this "klok klok" of mine can be heard especially when going pass those horizontal yellow lines on the road. its not loud.... but can notice. the problem causing this noise is from the calipers. the calipers need to either claim new warranty OR taken out to machine shop to rebore the caliper's "lubang" for the "kaki" and then refit a new rubber bushing on the kaki to fit into the lubang. by then it works damn good and will never bother u with the noise anymore. whts causing the noise at the caliper is due to it being slacked. it cannot be tighten. its due to the natural thinning of the brake pad and caused the caliper to slide out more and more and thus, the noise occurred.

BUT.....to date, i have yet to go lodge a complain on this noise. no time.....and hate the thought of having time wasted in SC. Soo sick of claim warranty la honestly. I am sick of doing warranty claim is because of my ex car went through A LOT / many times of warranty claims.

Bro I just notice that you have covered the air con piping with the black insulation sponge thingy. Does it help in making aicon cooler or something?

Last week i sent the persona to check the engine then notice that aircon pipe was cold and a lot water. Hmm tot of covering it oso.
BTW, Just got my car last week. LOL A black PE. Loving it. Ordered the orifice valve and the relay already. Next week can install when i go for 1st 1,000 km service. tongue.gif
*
just the thought of less loss of cooling due to exposure in the hot engine bay. so that is why i DIY insulated the cold pipes. smile.gif
I am sure no matter how much improvement or not, it still does improve somewhat. Imagine... its now insulated from the extreme under bonnet heat. Meaning less cold temp loss.

wth??? first time i ever hear this happening.

QUOTE(ZenGTMM @ Oct 31 2010, 02:48 PM)
to double check with you, is it the engine that started by itself or u just heard the radiator fan turning? Because persona have this function where it will turn on the radiator fan even after u turn off the engine if the engine is too hot. If not u got a car that chooses its driver. tongue.gif rclxms.gif  tongue.gif
*
QUOTE(jackyap84 @ Oct 31 2010, 03:07 PM)
yes, correct. the new persona pe version has such function, which will enable the cooling system to cool down the engine if it is too hot after you switch off engine. the radiator fan will kick in approximately 3-5 minutes, depends on the engine temparature.
*
current persona have such features? damn. how to add such features into the previous batches?

any recommended shop to install near pandan indah? after install need to do allignment and balancing again?

If there is no vibration after install the ring then no need.

QUOTE(chteh0721 @ Nov 1 2010, 09:53 AM)
i never install any ring that you mentioned when i change my rim, is it ok?
*
if urs does not vibrate then no need.

actually this hub centric ring (this is what its called actually okay) is quite subjective to solve vibrations. I dunno how to explain but, i went through this A LOT last time. What i know for sure is, the bigger the rim the more sensitive it is if there is any slight off balance on the wheel. My other car with 16 inch Advan rims really gave me headaches with balancing. End of the day, it is solely depending on how skillful your tire man can do this work and how good and accurate is his wheel balancing machine.

Eh we need out TT session wei.. How about next weekend? 13Nov.. I dont know any venue where have big wide open car park spaces lah.. Maybe somebody can suggest some good places??

*edit* I also need auto side mirror for my b-line.. How much is it to retrofit the side mirror motor into it? Or have to buy the whole new mirror set is it? Or maybe i can go to kereta potong shop and pau 1 from there.. biggrin.gif

Retarded Drive-by-wire system + spongbob brake pads= secret recipe for accidents!  vmad.gif
*
Retarded drive by wire system - yea you need a bit of getting use to. it feels disconnected from the engine. i still prefer cable type. 99% less likely to fail throughout the car's life span.

Spongebob squarepants brake pads - you need to replace them to aftermarket pads like Bendix Metal king titaniums or Trestor Advantage pads. It improve's the feel a lot and it brakes much better too. This is thanks to the weak master pump (using 1.3 litre type) compared to those 1.6 litre master pumps found in higher range personas.

exactly. U r using trestor right? Hows the feel?
I have been drving manual car all this while. First time driving auto. Tekan minyak abit the car straight drop gear. doh.gif  then i lepas abit straight go raise a gear. Really need some getting used to. Btw kereta potong what kind of master brake pump can i put it in ah? I need better braking system. No confidence driving fast.
*
first time driving auto eh? i think soon u will feel frustrated like me last time. cuz i was a long time manual driver. loving manuals and still do! manuals give u all the power to control how u want the car to drive. auto do not. the way auto drives is completely different. i mean the accelerator pedal being pushed etc etc. that triggers gear kick down etc. its different. needs some time to get used to it. ur a manual kaki la u should know what i am talking about! icon_rolleyes.gif

QUOTE(wilsonjack228 @ Nov 3 2010, 11:21 AM)
only high-line has ABS & EBD , m-line and b-line using normal breaks so the break pumps are differents . smile.gif
*
thanks for answering for me. i cant think of it just now. sorry. hahah....

QUOTE(ZenGTMM @ Nov 3 2010, 11:42 AM)
True. But then i prefer a more linear and progressive feel lah.. Almost accident a few times today..  sweat.gif  frightened the balls out of me. And i noticed that there is a fair amount of nose diving under slightly harder than normal braking. Quite bad if we were wet roads.
*
yes, the stock pads are really soft and braking is very......say no confident la. Ya i am using Trestor Advantage. Stiff feel and braking is strong and progressive. Confident in braking increased by a hell lot after that. I know what u mean by ur statement. I felt the same also that time when i was on stock pads. Its not that we abuse the braking but just normal braking can feel that the brake is totally insufficient. I even got complain from my branch manager who drove (pinjam sekejap) my car when it was new on stock pads.

Another pads receiving good review is Bendix metal king titanium. For these two pads bendix metal king titanium and trestor advantage, i have used them a long time in my other car. very very nice and affordable. there are of course others out there as well that i have yet to try. other forumers would be kind enough to review some other pads in here.
