True. But then i prefer a more linear and progressive feel lah.. Almost accident a few times today..  sweat.gif  frightened the balls out of me. And i noticed that there is a fair amount of nose diving under slightly harder than normal braking. Quite bad if we were wet roads.
*
the nose diving issue. ah yes. i know what u mean also. if u noticed, persona's butt is really tonggek whereby the front is far lower than the rear. can be observed from side profile. this contributes a lot to how it brakes also (nose dive)

i have always hated a lot on how tonggek persona's butt is. so what i did was, i purchased a set of low profile springs and fitted them ONLY to the rear suspension. front remained stock. now my ride is leveled and there is no noticeable excessive nose diving during hard braking anymore.

it rides like stock still. most of the time i even forgotten that my rear is on low profile springs.

just to share with you.....

Like to share with those having problems with aircon turning on & off by itself (for those voided the warranty tongue.gif )

I applied a temporary measure 'inspired by an old radio'  laugh.gif

Turn on the aircond speed to full "level by level" & leave it in full for a few seconds.
Then "level by level", turn it down, 2/3 seconds between each level.

Just think of it as an old radio volume knob where you get noise distortion & like an old radio it will come back again.
My last procedure lasted me 3/4 months before the problem came back recently. Now its been one week with no problem.
So i think dont be alarmed if your SA turn your aircond to full during service. Either it is coincidence or they know about it.

Hope it helps. Btw mine is first batch 2007 manual persona.

oh..... i know what u mean exactly. hahaha... yea. good tips.

guys, i wonder how to wash the engine section ? i know u can just spray the water if u car use carburator , but the new car like PE use many electronics and i kinda confius if we can wash our engine or not ?
*
there lots of electrical wirings and connectors around and on top of the engine. Better think twice. If i were you, i'd use damp cloth and rajin2 clean the engine and the surroundings.

Current mileage: 25k.

Check ur cars with autogears.

DESIGN FLAW causing excessive dirt and sand entering the gearbox via the dip stick hole / filling hole.

I noticed that every few months i need to take out the dipstick and clean its filling hole and dipstick covered in black thick dust and sand. Mind you, these foreign materials will then make its way down into the ATF fluid tank and thus, circulating all around the gearbox and subsequently causing faster wear and tear and ultimately failure to the auto gearbox.

What i did was to improve the flaw by fixing a cut to fit length of insulflex tube meant for aircond pipe. It is a tight fit with the ATF dip stick to ensure seal from dust etc and when plugged into the filling hole, the bottom half of the insulflex tube will fit tightly with the filling hole tube making a clean seal. I do hope this will be proven to be clean and nice in the next few months that i myself will re-check.

Note: I will be writing to Proton about this matter and await their updates.

Btw what is the hole located above the circle in red? Is it just the design or memang for filling something up?
*
nothing. its just some part of the cover that does nothing. tongue.gif

added low springs, added subwoofer with front component speakers, modded the original stock player rear wirings for routing to my amplifier and additional power cables for the amp. All done when the car was about 2 weeks old.

I still able to make all sorts of claims. No probs.

How much did you buy the amp and sub for bro smile.gif planning to put a sub in my car 1st... damn no bass 1 my car sad.gif
*
can't remember man. more than 6 years old unit. amplifier is a 4 channel amp driving 1 unit 12 inch sub in a ported enclosure. I think some where around RM800 for amp and sub. persona's heavily insulated boot means that the amp needs to work and drive the subwoofer much harder. i find myself setting the gain and bass boost much higher than i normally would as compared to my previous car. so its best to get one that is powerful enough to drive the bass through the boot padding in the persona.

i plan to do sound system as well. any recommentation?

Added on November 9, 2010, 10:56 pm

is it? which SC u went to? most of the persona elegance having that problem. the ICM relay "EEEEE" sound when switch on power, and it will disappear after 5min u switch off the car. new firmware? i doubt the new firmware will bring another issue later on. please monitor the stablility and do revert back to us.
*
for me, a nice 6.5 inch / 6 inch front component speakers from Pegasus / Infinity / DLS plus a 2 channel amp driving the sub at the rear will suffice. Maintain stock player (as to not attract would be sampah masyarakat thieves) and also maintain rear stock speakers. Fader set mostly to front say 70% front.

Purrfect enough for me. Personal preferences may differ. thumbup.gif

6" or 6.5" speaker for front, can straight fit into original door panel speaker hole there? No need cut or modify the door panel right? 2 channel amp just drive the sub woofer at back, the 2 front speakers no amp drive it?
*
on mine, my front speakers were fitted with additional "rings" for better fitting. That "ring" got "roof" at the back to prevent water from damaging the speakers since door panels on all cars naturally will have water / rain water flowing through them via the window outer seal. So the 6.5 on mine fits nicely. BUT the door panel's plastic edges need to trim off a bit (cannot see from cabin). the amp drives the sub and no.... front only hooked to the stock HU. The stock HU is quite capable enough to drive the front components.

Again, this is just the setup for mine. Other peep's preference might differ.

I just checked mine... urs i believe is SE editin? Mine PE H-Line...they sort of temporary fix that problem. They now have rubber stud on the dipstick, something like the one at out engine oil dipstick... so it is a tight fit...(i had to really pull to take it out and push a little to get it in)
*
No. Mine is NE (normal edition). Original already got "rubber stud" in them. It's just that.... its not good enough. And yes, original also i need to pull it quite hard to get it out and also a bit to push it back in. But still... its not a tight fit.

no problems you can use back the stock tyre as long as you choose the correct rim. i'm using after market rim with stock tyre. maybe the rim that you choose can't fit the stock tyre size. anyway quite hard to find rims that suits the stock tyre

no wonder. thats why i was wondering how come some peeps reported that their fuel warning light does blink if the fuel reserve is way too low. My 2009 unit only lights on permanently once fuel is low.

lucky i didnt try what some of u peeps said about it blinking. cuz i bet mine would just die off once no fuel. biggrin.gif
