me..already scare like hell if the needle below minimum line.
it light up when car using reserve fuel,
it will blink when the fuel reserve nearly empty,

correct me if wrong
*
wow ok... after driving this car for a year now baru i know it will blink if the reserve tank is nearing empty. cuz everytime it lights up after a while nearing the empty level i go pump already.

can someone confirm this fact?

I went to SC yesterday for 5000km service interval and look what they have found. my fead belt really worn out, luckily it didn't break while me driving. they told me that it was part defect (mean; their supplier of this belt are to blame). really frustrated to see new car with 6000km age already already have such problem. my 158,000km age kelisa had never such problem. i told the sc, why proton car have so much problem? I really regret not getting perodua car instead and they only smile and said "thank you for supporting us at proton". huh... vmad.gif
*
- you will regret more if you buy a Perodua with the exception of Kenari and Kelisa. Trust me on this man. Been there done that. Perodua used to be better in QC than Proton. Now it is totally the other way around.

QUOTE(muslayer @ Sep 9 2010, 09:30 AM)
Where this belt located?
hmm.gif
*
-funny that you dunno what u have under ur bonnet. anyways... the belt is located on the left side. same location of the engine timing belt.

QUOTE(sil3ntHunt3r @ Sep 9 2010, 09:30 AM)
Any symptoms on your car before they found this?
Scary ler...Mine already more than 10k km...
*
-usually no symtoms.

QUOTE(jackyap84 @ Sep 9 2010, 09:38 AM)
i guess those are air-con belt and fan belt.
*
-yes. single belt that drives the alternator, water pump, power steering pump, aircond pump. this belt is driven by the crankshaft pulley below.

QUOTE(patdidi @ Sep 9 2010, 09:54 AM)
i don't feel any problem
open your hood, it on your left hand side, there is only 1 belt visible
you are right, plus water pump. Full name is Front End Accessory Drive Belt, imagine what would happen if its break, mad.gif
*
-once break, no more electrical to battery charging, no more power steering, no more aircond and for sure engine overheating due to loss of water pumping.

Generally these belts can be inspected periodically by ourselves. Use a bright torch light to inspect the under side of the belt and top. The belting is most visible from top and bottom of the car. Can see from under the front bumper also. Check for signs of cuts, cracks and wear. Generally these belts can last till at least 100,000KM. But do check on it every 10 to 20k or so since it is so easy to inspect yourselves.

Hmm.. The underside of my front bumper got scratched today. Misjudged a ramp that was too steep for the Persona's nose. Although it cannot be seen without looking under, sakit hati woo.. I'm fighting the urge to always look at the scratches. sad.gif
*
oh... for me i am used to it. cuz my previous car was a low rider and scraping the front nose is pretty much common thing rolleyes.gif

my Persona however, got many scratches also mostly due to misjudging the distance to the curbs while parking!

er how to consider is over over ? tongue.gif  mine i tested a few times is above the max line about extra 1cm+ whistling.gif
*
- in fact anywhere between the low and max line is absolutely fine. anything above the max line is NOT. There is a reason why the max line is there. It is not to be overshot by 1cm or even 1mm. Max line means max. Never exceed it. in fact i prefer my engine to be half filled rather than max filled. why? much lighter engine.... really makes a lot of difference.

QUOTE(jackyap84 @ Sep 15 2010, 07:19 PM)

*
-yes u are right. more less that kinda scenario....

For over 10 years driving owning couple cars and driving few others.... i always have problems with workshop mechs OVERFILLING the engine oil. It goes from bawah pokok mechs till the soo called "pros" in Service Centres.

My ex MyVi....... always overfilled. Screw them all the time.

Now my Persona. Same thing. Some more telling me in the face that CAMPRO NEEDS 4L of engine oil SHIT?!

Last service i went it goes like this:-

Mech: draining the oil...

Me: eh, later dun pour all the 4L oil into the engine. Leave out some.... *me showing how much to leave out

Mech: Oh okay.

Me: Observing....

Mech: Time for refilling...and started pouring the oil

Me: Eh remember ah dun overfill. Just leave this much out....*me showing it again how much to leave out by hand

Mech: But Campro engines need all 4L engine oil.....continues pouring......

Me: eh please.... dun gimme that nonsense ok.... who said? It is always OVERFILLED. That i have to go to the trouble of getting it drained the next morning.

Mech: Mb u bought the 5L pack?

Me: Look.... Campro does not need 4L of engine oil OKAY. It is stated in the book and the last time one of u did that it caused me having to drain it out the next day. And it was way over the max line on the dip stick when checked early morning.

Mech: Ok ok.... puts down the bottle.... check dipstick.... noticed that its not max level yet.

Me: Its ok... i will refill it later if not enough. I know what i am doing.

Mech: Checks again and started engine letting it idle for while before shut down. Rechecks the level....

Me: Keeping a sharp eye....

Mech: Reaches the bottle again.... and started to pour....

Me: eh enough i said.... (after shown the level on the dipstick)....

Mech: not enough later ur engine jam.......continues pouring.....

Me: Look man, i said enough is enough ok! ENOUGH!!!!!!! *me snatching the bottle away from him

Mech: Ok ok.... then finish up everything else before passing the keys to me........

What a f***ing idiot....... CAMPRO needs whole bottle of 4 liters of engine oil BULLSHIT.

urs is with or without IAFM?

Added on September 17, 2010, 9:33 pmbtw just some information sharing....

my bro's newly own 2nd hand Persona H line Auto 08 model non IAFM.... i noticed that the FC is stated 11 per 100km as compared to my persona 09 IAFM Auto at 7.8 per 100KM. That is a huge difference!

Are those non IAFM version really suck far more fuel than its upgraded versions?

u refer to FC meter? of coz la high..try reset it first
*
-reset twice lo

QUOTE(rckh @ Sep 17 2010, 10:26 PM)
To all concerned. Can we not discuss FC anymore.  Persona is definitely a "gas guzzler" period - because of its sturdy build. Try to enjoy your ride & not think too much of every $ burning out of the exhaust tailpipe.  There are definitely many more economical rides out there for the fuel conscious to choose from.

My advice to all those potential buyers of the Persona who are considering this car - If you cannot afford the petrol, opt for something smaller.
*
-yea i know. i just wanted to compare between these two non iafm and iafm versions. i am so far ok with the fc. no difference for me because my previous ride a 1.3 auto is more less the same fc. so.... anyone have non iafm versions here can gimme some answers? is non iafm version definitely consume more fuel than the iafm version?

according to sc it depends on what type of engine oil u using, if you use semi oil then you supposed to service ur car every 5k and if you're using fully syn oil then you can service your car every 10k
*
OCI at 5k or 10k depending on semi or full synthetic oils are very subjective in modern times among owners (personal preference etc...). For me, i change at every 10k on semi syn. No problems with warranty at all. biggrin.gif

I'll going for my second service at Serdang SC tomorrow morning. Basically I'll complain for:-

1. Metal knocking sound when cornering on uneven surface
2. ICM relay "EEEE" sound when switch on power
3. Center of the air con ven got "Seeeeeee" sound
4. When stop and release handbrake, "klok" sound happen
*
-your problem on item 1 still exist? I thought u fixed the orifice valve thing already??? Mine also. But i lazy to rectify it.
-Item 3 yea mine also. But occasionally it's gone.
-item 4. I heard all Personas with rear disc brakes have the same problem since its first batch.

QUOTE(NSX_MY @ Sep 21 2010, 11:35 AM)
my Air-con now is not as cold as it used to be, anyone can show me whats the trick to open out the air con filter? i tried to open it but cant really take out the whole thing, or i open the wrong compartment? @_@
*
- yes his is slightly different from mine and my bro's 08 model. but basically its the same location. See the carper right under it? it is basically blocking you from pulling the filter out easily. So... press the carpet down firmly and slowly slide out the filter element. Tight clearance though. smile.gif Note: Clean the filter regularly to ensure optimum aircond air flow.

So far Since april until 2010 now...Engine Mati when release clutch....i think got 5 ~ 7 times....Consider my driving skill noob. blush.gif
2. That problem only when u switch on ur car time right...before start engine? Correct. Mine IAFM also have this sound...like the motor realign back sound,.

3. For those air cond vent rattling sound. Can use the double sided tape. (use 1 side stick only) and inbetween the  vent movement gap. May reduce the rattling sound....(not sure how u describe it)

4. That one just ask the SC to check rear drum braking. Alignment of the brake shoe lari sikit only.

All this not major problem,. i doubt p2 ,  T & H also have their annoying problem too. Now my major concern is the Crankshaft angle sensor issue only for the campro engine
*
-do you mind posting how to "solve" the vent rattling problem??? Mine all the vents are rattling!!!!!!
