I want to ask.. our amd a8 need to use what ram...mine is 667 ddr3...good or not....

use DDR-1600 lor...

recommended 1600 or above. else, APU graphics not really able to match with discrete.

1866 can use with our current fm2 board?...

667 equal to 1333. if you joint 1333 ram with 1600 ram together, your 1600 ram will downgrade to 1333 speed, wasted. motherboard will follow whichever lower speed if mixed. if you want to upgrade, sell all old ram, may consider add some budget get 1866 now, while 2400 still tooooo expensive... system ram need to continue improving, as we know GDDR5 are much faster than DDR3.....

mine no problem, running 1866 rams now. check your own mobo manual to confirm.

Bro Not much gain buying 2400mhz ram. Price versus performance is not that great. 1866 ram is at the sweat spot. to go above you need to over clock it unless you use richland apu which can handle 2133 ram without overclock.

Bro its not 667 ram. It's 1333Mhz Double Data Rate (DDR) So 667x2 = 1333.

So 1600/2 = 800 mhz not much performance benefit. Btw just bump up the mhz from 1333mhz to 1600mhz.

I bump my 1333 > 1600 and down clock my 2400 >1600.

With the beta driver, is the micro stuter still happen? im' cross fire 6670 with my 7660D in A10-5800k but the micro stuter is very annoying.

There is some line in the middle of screen. Usually happen when the game utilize dual graphic card (old name crossfire hybrid). The game that hit with this performance problem usually that utilize directx 10 or directx 11(etc: bioshock infinite,tomb rider). When the game running in directx9 (etc:borderlands) mode when usually only single gpu will be utilize, the micro stuter problem will not arise.

When you are running in dual graphic mode there is no benefit of running faster ram on system since it will utilize the discreet graphic card ram (HD 7750).

Well actually the benefit that people see when running faster ram while dual graphic mode is because the whole system is being benefited from a faster ram.

Usually I use GPUz to check. Well the maximum the apu can handle without over clocking is 1866.

Not sure how much impact but few millisecond in paging efficiency when using faster ram. Perhaps because my system is a bit bloated.

Would like to seek some opinion.

My current rig:
AMD X2 7750 (BE) AM2+
AMD Radeon 6850 GPU

I'm considering to change to a FX-4300 and replace the mobo with AM3+. Is now a good time to change it or should I wait for the new chipset? Not extremely in a hurry to get an upgrade but if it's fine to get it now then why not. But if it is worth waiting then I'll probably see what is in store from AMD next year.

Sadly AMD will be focusing more on their APU lineup from now on
No news on any new update of their aging AM3/3+ platform as well

I've been trying to dig up information as well but it all seems to focus on their APU lineup, so I'm a little confused whether to just get the current FX AM3+ processor now or not.
