I'm sponsored by JPA, but the thing is, JPA doesn't let us study at Bath (stupid thing considering Bath's rank). Only filled in Bath coz JPA only had 4 choices (LSE, Warwick, Manchester, Edinburgh). Share your experience, if you don't mind?  wink.gif
*
jpa only sponsor students enrolled in the top 50 unis in the times higher education list...but it appears that list has now been changed by jpa....

bath is very lowly ranked in most ranking systems, and hence is not considered a top world uni....

if it's that part on england you want to be, try bristol....

buy a bank draft and bring it with you back to uk....

the bank will want to know why....just tell the truth, investment....no problem is you do not owe money in msia....

restrictions only apply to CASH....not other instruments....

the chance of an international student staying back to work in uk is now almost nil....due to current eu rules...

there are exceptions, where the course mandates that the students needs to undergo a period of work for completion....and this bypass the eu rules as it comes under the tier 4 student visa....

these people, by virtue of having worked, stands a much better chance of getting a tier 2 visa after that to continue working....compared to a fresh graduate...

indeed. most of the employers really they would rather employ EU citizen than outsider unless you have outstanding results and plenty of relevant work experience else it is nearly no chance sad.gif
*
That is incorrect....they have to employ eu citizens as priority by law....your academic results is irrelevant....as is work experience....

If they can't find, and offer you a job, your eligibility for a tier 2 visa depends on having a minimum income cut off before...

Emirates cramp 10 seats abreast into their 777s....just make sure you are on their a380 flights....or just use mas non stop....the mas a380 is quite nice....

Emirates and Qatar only use A380s for the London- Dubai and London-Doha legs respectively. Emirates use 777s for the Dubai/KL leg while Qatar use A330s for Doha-KL.

I am disappointed with Eithad. On certain days they use JetAir's aircrafts for the KL/Abu Dhabi leg and not all Abu Dhabi -London route use A380s.

emirates has one a380 service between kul-dxb.....4 times a week...been on it once....

With so many people with multiple a and a*, the top UK unis need to have other ways of differentiating students ....the a level failed in this aspect....4% of students will have 3a*... That is why Oxbridge has long abandoned using the a level as entry criteria....they assume all applying will be straight a/a* and use other means to differentiate....

Hey,

Is there anyone fly from KL to Leeds bradford by British airway before?

If yes, can I know 2 hours transit time will it be too rush? After arrive in London (heathrow), my flight to leeds will be 2 hours later.
*
if you are flying ba all the way, you should receive a boarding pass for lhr-lba when you check in at changi (ba does not fly to kl)....both ba heathrow arrival and departure will be at terminal 5....

you will need to clear immigration at lhr....that may take some time, depending on the crowds, but from experience, mostly can get through within 20-30min maximum....as a first time student, they may want to check your cxr, and that may take up some more time....then you need to clear security, which again depends on the queue...so 2 hrs would appear adequate but tight transit...

unless there is a delay coming in from changi, but ba will put you on the next flight to leeds...they have 3 flights a day to leeds from lhr...

alternatively, ask the travel agent to put you on the next lba flight anyway, which will give you a comfortable >6hrs transit....

why is that so ,doc?

I talked to a lot of doctors including my relatives  and many seem to regret going into medicine.

You are under bond, so in the mid term future, dentistry will have a better career future in msia....the medical profession is going to go through a messy and tough time in the near to mid term....

remember they use soft parameters...and rather subjective ones as well....

there are enough ranking tables with hard criteria, so it is interesting to look at things from a different angle...

how happy and satisfying is the uni experience?....that's what the guardian ranking is about....and some smaller unis with nice campuses can actually be a great experience.... lol

You need to be residing 10years in UK to be eligible for PR.... Not possible unless you get a job after graduating....or have lots of money to be a 'professional student' for 10 years....

Getting a tier 2 visa is now almost impossible.....

I think you can do it if you go into medicine. Even as an international student, housemanship is guaranteed. Also, you can compete for specialist training post on equal basis with the local/EU students starting August this year.

Not too sure about other professions though...

The question was asked by someone who is not doing medicine....

Hi, thx for the help. By the way, Ba has resume their flight from Kuala Lumpur to London end of this May. So, no need to transit from Singapore to London now.  smile.gif
*
so indeed!....ba is back in msia, after 15 years absence...!

if they book you through, then it should be ok....if delayed, they will just put you on the next flight...

Migrant workers will need to earn at least £35,000 to qualify for settlement in the UK, says the Home Office.
http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-17204297?SThisFB
*
this applies to "settlement", akin to a pr....

the amount for eligibility for a tier 2 work visa remain currently at 20,800 quid....at current starting pay for most graduates, this excludes most jobs....which is why few international students manage to stay back after graduation....
