oh my this is weird... I defragged both drives and my boot time decreased until 40 seconds like that... now after a few hours it's back to 60+ seconds again ><.... So weird...

yes,you may do that provided you have to exchange back to standard harddisk when you send it for warrantymake sure you do it carefully without any physical damge example to the harddisk connector
*
Errr... You mean that we cannot actually sell the original harddisk?
They won't even accept the warranty even if it's not the harddisk faulty(eg proccessor) is it?

Now, I'm confused... rclxub.gif

no pt selling... since the HDD that came with the laptop is an OEM product, Seagate is not responsible for any warranty claims... the responsibility lies with Asus...

u can go ahead and change the HDD... juz replace with the original one when u need to get the laptop serviced...

You mean RAM also works the same way?
Because lee_what2004 said that I can sell the original RAM and still able to send the laptop with the new RAM to ASUS warranty, just that they will only service the rest of the parts except the RAM?

which is right? rclxub.gif

Both suggestion are correct.
1) Don't sell the original RAM. When you need to send your notebook to Asus service center for repair, switch the new RAM with old one. This way your new RAM not accidentally MIA.
2) Sell the original RAM. When you need to send your notebook to Asus service center for repair, just send it.

I have to make a confession here. I have been a very, very bad boy. The last time I defragment my hard disk is when I use Windows 95. laugh.gif

Mainly is the ultra low voltage CPU vs regular CPU...
and UL80Vt is using hybrid GPU, which will result flicker when switching GPU and don't really have any new driver support from nVidia
while the U45Jc is using nVidia Optimus...

I might doing so if I have problem with boot time or slow down issue but I'm currently happy with it. tongue.gif Since I use Windows Vista (when people downgrading their Vista with XP) & now Windows 7, I don't have any problem with boot time. Anyway, disk defragmentation already scheduled to run weekly by default on Windows Vista & 7. So you don't need to do it manually.

Do you save a lot of files in C drive? What is your partition scheme, especially partition size?
