Yep. kinda stylish looking too. I think this is on par with the SE Vivaz. I always though the Vivaz design is nice but to other it looks too plasticky. Hmm

why the c7 almost identical spec to N8 can make the phone so small n slim? the n8 so thick..? sweat.gif

not to forget both phone have same battery capacity.... sweat.gif

simple N8 is old compare C7.....same like N97 and N97 mini

still small capacity.....we need BIG capacity battery....car battery is the only way.....idea from bufung whistling.gif

AFAIK C7 have wifi (b, g and n) alongside 3G, GPS etc etc.
Its just looks like the E series designer decides to design other series of Nokia phones...

capacitive do not need any pressure on screen... it is almost like u dont have to touch(but very close) to the screen also can sense....

I think capacitive is much more sensitive than resistive smile.gif. Sometimes resistive dont register the touches if too soft need put some pressure.

Yup, cant deny that capacitive is going mainstream. But in certain cases, IMHO resistive is much more preferable for example in tapping the small links on during web browsing.

firstly.. try not to judge the outcome like the camera before the real outcome...

2nd.. U think the a 680Mhz CPU vs a 434Mhz CPU in the exactly same architecture no different? I cannot agree on this one..

3rd.. AMOLED vs TFT no different? I agree the diff are not that big.. but it depend on how good the C6's TFT... too many type of TFT

4th... Symbian^3 vs Symbian^1 not much different? I can only partially agree with you on this...

next, out of topic.. do you think ppl will spend another RM500 or more for N8?.. since U think C7 are not worth it.. hmm.gif...

Camera sure got diedrema between 5mp and 8mp

Obviously 680mhz got difference compared to that miserable 434mhz though it's same architecture...

AMOLED sure got difference again but seriously not that important...

Symbian 3 runs at 60fps hence theoretically should be alot smoother than Symbian 1 biggrin.gif

Umm...yeah...I guess people will spend more to go for N8 than C7...and 1 of those people will be me if I were to decide between C7 and N8 because of the really powerful graphics chip in N8 biggrin.gif

that's my point. i haven't try symbian^3 yet so i can't judge how good it is.N8 itself is good but and selling together with headset isn't a wise move from nokia sad.gif

for 680mhz & 434mhz cpu, it is obviously a different there but it's just some allocation on processor and memory issue. both are using the same architecture still.

that selling headphone move really not so wise... they want to tell consumer that is a purely entertainment handset.... at the same time, they push away a lot potential buyer....

maybe they want u to go for C6-01 or C7...

for me since my mom's 5700 I dun use fixed focus... but all the other cams in my family are fixed focus except for me..

There's no such thing as XM in future releases...all music series is X-series Nokia only got 4 series namely, N, E, C, X smile.gif and I don't think Meego will be on X-Series...X-Series will have Symbian smile.gif

Nokia believe people that use camera phone wont bother with 'waiting for focus' much since its mostly point-and-shoot. So they implement the EDoF system so that u can simply fire up the camera and shoot straight away.

Sucks pricing... Nokia must remember that if they don't price this competitively, people either remember Symbian^3 phones are freaking expensive or think Symbian^3 not worth it.... (I'm at the latter category).
I hope in a few months, the price come down.... If not Nokia's Symbian^3 is only aiming high range which is a market OWNED by Android and iOS.....

In my opinion, this phone is like a replica for the Nokia N8, however you will notice that the target market for the phone is for the ladies. It's slicky and mod. Camera isn't the best however it caters to the needy instead of the multi-functional Nokia N8.

Heard that this phone will be officially launched by end Oct. Hope to get good reviews from this phone. I was in the midst of contemplating whether to purchase this phone or Nokia N8. Both are seriously similar is their own special and unique ways... If given a chance, I'll try using this phone too.

from my view many people looking NB in perspective of camera 12 mpix, HDMI, OLED Screen but did u know that N8 ONLY have one speaker, but C7 got 2 speakers and lack of autofocus.

BTW N8 is N series... Later surely got newer functions that only support N... Nokia biased

I tried in term of speaker C7 actually not bad but I found out N8 speaker louder.
Screen size same but in term of size for this C7 is slimmer.

The OS can be built anyhow... Bsides, it would be more exclusive if let's say N8 has a larger screen reso compared to the C series...

yeap. restarted the phone a couple of times and now it is charging via usb fine. But theres some other problems...

I cant seem to access the photo album or video.
The camera will work once, but after exiting the camera and then going back in again, there was just a black screen.

Im getting a replacement tomorrow anyways...so hopefully the replacement is okay.

The camera will work once, but after exiting the camera and then going back in again, there was just a black screen.

Im getting a replacement tomorrow anyways...so hopefully the replacement is okay.

got my replacement today and glad to report it works like a charm.

Anyways...anybody has any insight to whether the phone supports which format of vids? I checked the site and it said that almost all especially .avi files are supported but a lot of them dont seem to work on the phone.

cannot deny that.. it take 2-3 months time for apple to settle the lag problem in it's 3G... 2 years old phone they still make the 4.2 work smooth on it....

Nokia? N97 / N97 mini.. all forgotten.. sorry...

Played with the demo phone today. Although the phone is responsive, however, I would say do not expect much from this phone. Maybe I am too used to Nokia N8, that's why I have this little incling that C7 is lacking something which I need to further explore.

Camera wise is good enough if you are not a photo-geek. Hardware is solid enough but some may think it looks plastic-ky.

Overall, quite an impressive phone however I would suggest to pay little more for Nokia N8 instead.

That bulge is obvious and visible enought at the camera area, and I tend to wear my working pants a little loose... not obvious kua...

Of course, wear tight sure obvious liao ma.. As for K800, the phone is really thick leh. Wear school pants some more, sure the bulge is even more obvious. It's kinda different for Nokia N8 instead. Don't wear until like cycling tights la... that one no need say it's truly obvious lorrr

Yeap. The difference is very little between the price of N8 & C7. Nokia needs to restructure the price of C7. Sales would be very little if they're selling at the current price. However, if I'm not mistaken, there're people selling C7 at only RM12XX which means it's a 2 to 3 hundred difference. That might change people's mind.

Same Symbian^3 but diff interm of camera & RAM. C7 having more RAM juice but fail in camra bcos of the full fouced /Edof cam which is a no-no for those wanna feel closer to DSLR feeling.. (i.e u can't get the best bokeh using this C7..Check the diff in the cam specs here:

Specs almost similar lor except the ROM, Camera and the screen type.

But for sure the camera performance will be a big issue for those wanna get the best cam phone. C7 cam can't performed to N8 standard lor..

i choose c7 rather than n8 cuz i dun wan too pricey phones. and i will buy a camera after this, so, better c7 than n8 and i can bear with the camera though laugh.gif plus, i like the slimmer c7. the black one looks good thumbup.gif for girl, the brown and white is superb brows.gif i got this for 1270 only from GNEX, far less than sold at nokia @ 1490, add 200 can get n8 doh.gif <--- this one sure regret if buy

untill now i'm very satisfied with the phones. just the phone is a finger-print magnet. u know, not just the screen, but its whole phones! except the metal battery cover doh.gif but i can bear with it.

the speed is acceptable to me smile.gif screen is bright. speed is as to be expected from capacitive unit. what else? hmmm..

Symbian^3 is better for beginners... my friend just changed a few settings in her Android X8 and it won't connect to the internet tongue.gif (she is sure to kill me if she reads this) ... About lower price range... X8 or X10 mini is at a lower price range than this (below RM1000) but of course the screen is tiny compared to this 3.5" AMOLED with CBD flex.gif

Lucky you got a cheap price for this phone... Congratz... But I still prefer N8 if I want to buy a new phone now... I want my 1st N series...since N95 launch I have been waiting for a N series to enter my hands (don't talk bout N95 now...I will puke) sweat.gif

Just buy a case to protect your phone from your fingerprints... Sometimes being a fingerprint magnet reminds you to take care of it properly... need to wipe it always.... Anyway glossy phones are more attractive to people compared to phones with matte paint jobs...

Really nice phone... SuperAMOLED on Galaxy S and Wave? Price above this range already... Wave quite near but the software is nowhere as accomplished as Symbian...

It depends on how you think about it. Its actually pretty cheap compared to 'other' models. Pretty happy with my N8 as well here. I have to say, the C7 looks good too smile.gif. Lets hope symbain ^3 gets an update quick smile.gif.

these new devices hv a better future than iPhones bcoz of the price range...iPhones are above the range for many youngsters who earn their own keep or get allowance from their parents.. And since youngsters are those who keep changing phones, a cool and classy yet cheap phone will attract a large portion of technology consumers. My RM0.02

ok. my phones hang sometimes. when restart(immediately), it starts to hang when the holding hands logo, or when my phones try to connect to wifi via fring (this apps launch automatically doh.gif is there any way to disable this?)
is this due to software or hadware?
it hangs due to excessive apps on backround tongue.gif it will boot normally after 10 to 20 minutes off.

Because you need to be 50CM away.

Like nokia N8 u need be 10CM away with close up mode.

1 way for C7 can do take from 50CM then crop the phone using computer hehe

i dun experience any hot issue though.. u fon's turns hot?btw, apps such grid and opera often crash on my phones. zzz

btw, the fixed focus camera need to get about 50cm to have a slightly clear pictures as it dun hve autofocus+macro sweat.gif

btw, about the hang problem, just let the phone for about 10minutes, than boot again, walah, solve~ (for others who may experience the same problems)

nope, didn't use any external memory, the intrnal, only filled to 3.5gb only
i think it must be problems with the hardware.. haiya..

update: the phone is dead already after my bro played angry bird for a long time. can't on. cry.gif will sent to nokia care. will update later ohmy.gif

since this model is still new, this is common (maybe), as it happens too on my SE w595 before, as i bought the very 1st batch. so, some of them may have hardware issue. unsure.gif (correct me if i'm wrong)

guys, little question here, if i send the phone at NCC at KL, can i receive it at somewhere alse, lets say, alor star? as i'm currently on holiday, day by day, i see the phone dead, it quite hurts me sweat.gif

my hand so itchy to send it at NCC around KL now. haha tongue.gif

my problem, 1 time auto restart when using Garmin (everytime when inside garmin)
but only 1 time restart.then, ok.

after finish using @ reach at the destinasi, ok.

Maybe is garmin problem. Try don't use Garmin use Ovi. If Ovi oso got problem means your GPS chip got problem

its w595. it is wonderful phones, but... cry.gif

continuous problems make me wanna throw it (i can bear with sometimes-sometimes problems). just bcoz its good stereo loudspeaker make me still used it hmm.gif

btw, just send my c7 to a shop to send to NCC (@perlis dun have NCC sweat.gif ) the girls there told me, maybe it'll take up to 1 month as it is mobo problems+this is new model. rclxub.gif

normally they will say like that to keep their own butts safe from you... later if they say 1 week, can't be done in 1 week, you will totally scold them. So to be safe, they tell you 1 month...normally is like that la...your case... I don't know

haha.. read somewhere about the stock for mobo in malaysia still didn't receive yet by NCC, so maybe it'll take time.

yeah, i got a very good impression once i tried n900 on nokia slider. c6's also quite solid. just the nightmare of slider make up my mind to forget slider, go for touchscreen by now. maybe will look for E7 once the price is lowered after time flies by drool.gif

not much, but for nokia C6, they got the deadly "H" button laugh.gif
maybe the issue for a full qwerty phone is the button is finger-friendly or not. some are a bit curve, and some of them are flat.

True phone enthusiasts most probably won't go for something at this price. Shutterbugs for sure get N8...this phone just lacks a special feature to put it above the rest

aiya.. at first also want N8, cuz i like the design. not like ordinary touchscreen phone. u know, one of my friends, she didnt take much attention on phones, but all touchscreen with like this oval design, she always said, she saw it d at this2 store, even the phone is not yet released, just bcoz they have the normal2 shape:lol: dats y i want N8 at first. hehe.. but, the price ohmy.gif can't buy that since it is pricier than my father's phone (at the time he buy that E71 at 1600 sweat.gif <dunno what the price is reasonable or not). that is my reason for "tight" budget laugh.gif
