Haha why do you need so much capacity? I think 16GB should be sufficient lo
*
Mmm, i guess so, maybe Sandisk SD Ultra II 16GB which cost RM155 should be enough

Hmm most 16GB cards are around RM120-130, but that card you mentioned is faster than the rest- faster writing speed.Which is better for taking HD videos rclxms.gif

But better go test out at the shop first lo.

I'm actually also planning to get that card when i get my 550D, shooting 1080p at 24fps! rclxm9.gif Oh wait...my Kingmax 16GB should be able to the job hmm.gif

After some researching, it comes down to whether to get S95 or Panasonic LX5. It seems Panny is a slightly better low-light camera.

This forumer owns both camera and is a Canon fan but still gred LX5 as giving better pictures quality. But i don't like Panasonic because of the lens cap, slightly bulky. The pro is battery life, 400 pic compare to 200-220 by Canon. sad.gif So hard to decide

"7. Okay now the fun part - image quality. Admittedly, I was hoping that the S95 would win here because I love compact and functional devices - IF they work well. Time after time, the LX3 won out. I believe there might be an AWB issue with the S95. Also, the S95 seems to choose a much higher ISO mode than the LX3. Presumably, the processor is detecting a certain light level and then sets the ISO mode per its programmed algorithm. Why is the S95 choose ISO 1600 when the LX3 is using ISO 400. Even when using the flash, the LX3 chose ISO 80 versus the S95's ISO 250. Seems odd. The LX3 seems to have a much better AWB control. Period. Color quality was the same but the LX3 does have a problem with yellows - especially in Video mode. It doesn't do this all the time with photos - again, an issue of consistency. The LX3 wins hands down however. Despite my best efforts, I just couldn't get the same quality of imagery with the S95".

What i can say is, S95 and LX5 about the same. But 1 thing pros for S95 is, compact size, easy bring around. For picture quality, i dont know which 1 is better. But since u say LX5 like slightly better, i only can say, how much u pay, how much u get lo due to LX5 exp Rm2-300 than S95...

It's not even an issue... it's just different school of thought for auto ISO selection. Both have their pro's and con's. Perhaps LX3's algorithm choose ISO400 as higher values gives noisier jpegs.

Either ways, you can always select your own ISO speed and I do agree that between these "enthuasiast" compacts.. there's really nothing significantly different between them in image quality.

I agree with your points. I also made the same comparison when deciding between S95 and LX5.

Pricewise I got my S95 for RM1,259 (package with 4GB SDHC, Canon pouch, mini tripod, screen protector).

Actually NEX3 uses APS sensor (even bigger than micro 4/3).

i was once stuck in the same situation as yours. but i choose s95 in the end. why? compactness. the reason i need another device in my pocket all the time is to capture anything while i was out anytime. my phone camera aint that good and fails me most of the time. so i decided to buy a compact that wud suit my needs. firstly, my choice was lx5>s95. i did some researches and still i feel like buying the lx5. but then, when i finally decided to try both of the cams at a shop, i ended up with s95. why? cuz the lx5 was too big for me, with its lens cap, it couldnt fit my jeans. and if i were to carry a slightly bigger camera+a bag of its own,(since it cant fit in my jeans) i might as well carry my dlsr. and since that day, the s95 never fails me icon_rolleyes.gif
