is S95 worth to buy compare to Lumix LX3/LX5?

It's a tough decision between S95 and LX5. In the end I chose the S95 mainly because it is a more compact size and easier to carry. In terms of picture quality, they are both very close.

Of course the S95 is also cheaper.

I did a lot of research prior to purchasing my S95 and yes the LX5 is slightly better in terms of features so if you don't mind slinging around a camera on your arm especially during travelling, then get the LX5.

If you're like me who insists on keeping my camera in my pants pocket.. then really the S95 is the best option.

canon and panasonic both does not provide international warranty. i've asked canon/panasonic, e.g. if you buy from US, it's only valid in US.

just come back to KL, go sg wang and get it for RM1200 lah. S$500 only then.

How come so expensive there? I thought prices in SG about the same as MY.

i think $699 is the list price. List price in Malaysia is RM1549.

Wow after reading all the post, i feel this is the one of the best compact, balance between image quality and size.  If i want a compact but don't mind about price, it this the best camera to get compare to the rest like LX5 or even Fuji F300EXR?  How come no one talk about Fuji?  Isn't this the best low-light compact some time back with F30?  Now it lose out to others??

I thought Lx5 would be better than Lx3 and S95 better than S95? Nolah, i didn't say Lx5 is the best.  One more thing, does S95 have battery indicator to show how much battery left?  I know canon compact can take around 250 pic per charge but very difficult to estimate sometimes because depending how long you on the camera and view on it.

Oh, i thought you have the camera   Totally agree on your last sentence.  I using Ixus 850 now but the picture i took is not as nice as the one i see in the internet

The S95 comes with 1+2 years warranty (register your warranty online for the extra 2 years).

add me to the club.. just bought last weekend at lowyat for RM1270 (plus case, screen protector and 4G SDHC) and get a free gift... Sony Adilfitri Tissue box... LOL... i bought a Small monopod too for taking picture using smile shutter or wink function... This is for me and my gf when we visit overseas and got no 1 to help us whole camera... ahahhaa...

For picture quality, i would say so so la.... coz i am a Nikon D90 user... cannot fight in term of ISO... but is consider good for compact la... cheers!
