yup, every other forum i've visited seems to be of that opinion.. if you're just shooting in auto, the 300hs would be better than the s95 - and also more $avings smile.gif

Anyway, does everyone agree to use the auto mode in S95, better buy 300hs?

Wow after reading all the post, i feel this is the one of the best compact, balance between image quality and size. If i want a compact but don't mind about price, it this the best camera to get compare to the rest like LX5 or even Fuji F300EXR? How come no one talk about Fuji? Isn't this the best low-light compact some time back with F30? Now it lose out to others??

So far, for compact camera, most ppl compare lx3 and lx5 with S90 and S95. Now u say lx5 is 1 of the best cause it new ma, after 1 year then will got better 1 again, cant finish follow...

I thought Lx5 would be better than Lx3 and S95 better than S95? Nolah, i didn't say Lx5 is the best. One more thing, does S95 have battery indicator to show how much battery left? I know canon compact can take around 250 pic per charge but very difficult to estimate sometimes because depending how long you on the camera and view on it.

I say "1 of the best" not "is the best" ar...

Im new to camera too so i not that sure about S90 have indicator how much battery left or not, this need S95 owner to reply it. For me, camera good or not is 2nd, 1st is skill la,  icon_rolleyes.gif

Oh, i thought you have the camera smile.gif Totally agree on your last sentence. I using Ixus 850 now but the picture i took is not as nice as the one i see in the internet laugh.gif

QUOTE(jchong @ Oct 25 2010, 09:44 PM)

Haha, i haven own yet, but hope soon. U mean ur Ixus 850's picture not nice Ixus 850's pictures in internet or compare with S95? Think u kena poison already la, soon ur wallet will got big hole...  whistling.gif
*
I mean as you said the skill of taking picture is more important. I own Ixus 850 for few years but i still can't take as nice as the pictures of 850 posted in the internet, me having problem especially with the angle of the sun.

QUOTE(littleprawn @ Oct 25 2010, 10:21 PM)
The battery indicator should be in bar...
U can refer here >> S95 Pics

Yeah i think i saw the bar, would prefer it to be in minutes though, but as least better than Ixus 850 which don't have any indicator at all.

After some researching, it comes down to whether to get S95 or Panasonic LX5. It seems Panny is a slightly better low-light camera.

This forumer owns both camera and is a Canon fan but still gred LX5 as giving better pictures quality. But i don't like Panasonic because of the lens cap, slightly bulky. The pro is battery life, 400 pic compare to 200-220 by Canon. sad.gif So hard to decide

"7. Okay now the fun part - image quality. Admittedly, I was hoping that the S95 would win here because I love compact and functional devices - IF they work well. Time after time, the LX3 won out. I believe there might be an AWB issue with the S95. Also, the S95 seems to choose a much higher ISO mode than the LX3. Presumably, the processor is detecting a certain light level and then sets the ISO mode per its programmed algorithm. Why is the S95 choose ISO 1600 when the LX3 is using ISO 400. Even when using the flash, the LX3 chose ISO 80 versus the S95's ISO 250. Seems odd. The LX3 seems to have a much better AWB control. Period. Color quality was the same but the LX3 does have a problem with yellows - especially in Video mode. It doesn't do this all the time with photos - again, an issue of consistency. The LX3 wins hands down however. Despite my best efforts, I just couldn't get the same quality of imagery with the S95".

u can view the exif info here.

Sorry for asking this but i'm a noob blush.gif . Is shutter speed anothor word for exposure?
ISO 80 plus shutter speed 6, Mmm, interesting combo, i think i'm gonna try it. You didn't adjust exposure compensation right? Can ask why you switch image stabilization to "shoot only", better for night shot? In the page 165 of the manual, it said switch IS off if using tripod. hmm.gif
Lastly where's this place? it's nice, looks like some community lake near housing area. Bukit Jalil by any chance?

Oh, i didn't know there's a mini Jusco inside. now i remember someone saying something like that some time back sweat.gif So that area is not accessible to outsiders, too bad, thought of going to have a look sad.gif
