What exactly is force closing chiahau?
I don't have too much time to play 7.0 yet but it's rock stable as far as I'm using it.

Actually I think it has something to do with 3rd party apps that screwed your ROM up
Same device, same ROM.. some people face issues and some people don't. So I think it has to be some other apps that's causing it...hmm |

QUOTE(triplexpresso @ Aug 26 2010, 02:10 AM) flashed leedroid 1.9a. Restored all apps/settings through titanium, restored homescreen widgets and ran quadrant, getting a score of 1337. Highest personal sense UI score yet. Gonna sleep a happy man Nice number night guys/gals~ I nearly flashed Leedroid 1.9 (when NextSense didn't get update for some time), but last minute I saw nextSense 6.0 (and it's 7.0 now), so maybe next time QUOTE(iceman31 @ Aug 26 2010, 03:01 AM) guys , why when i plug my hand phone to the pc all the data application will be delete ? i tot i already install as2d+ but why is it come with modinstalllocation ? Two things here, just want to make it clear:1. ModInstall Location, is sort of forced froyo a2sd (to force apps to move to sd fat32) even if the application does not natively support it. It may have negative impact. 2. If you use A2SD+ instead of Froyo A2SD (or forced install with ModInstall), your apps is still visible even if you connect as Disk Drive to PC. A2SD+ and its ext2/3/4 partition is not affected, that's why I always think A2SD+ is a better choice. Why modinstall still in your ROM if it supports a2sd+? Maybe just give a choice to users This post has been edited by samurai1337: Aug 26 2010, 03:17 AM |

QUOTE(kokakopi @ Aug 26 2010, 03:24 PM) hi guys.. newbie here... just got my Desire yesterday... after 2days surfing this thread & all previous thread, i found all the info very useful & really help me to know my Desire better... but, i have a few question need clarification from all of u... 1. I think many forumers flashing different custom ROM many times, but they only rooted once.1-why some of forumer do so many times rooting & re-rooting the desire? 2-what happen if i try, & fail to root my Desire? any impact? 3-Is rooting can save batery power? 4-should i turn off my 'mobile network' data if i'm not using it to eliminate my data being overused? synchronized automatically? 2. You can always flash back to RUU (official HTC) ROM. It's not likely to fail as long as you follow the steps correctly 3. Rooting has no relation to battery power, it gives you root access so that you can flash custom ROM. Some custom ROM is claimed to be saving more battery 4. Depends on your data plan. Use NetCounter to keep track of your usage. But you shouldn't be too worried if you have 1GB/month or connect to wifi most of the time. |

QUOTE(LuffyPSP @ Aug 26 2010, 03:37 PM) 1 - Not really, you can root only once. those that root many times cuz they updated using the official update, hence need to root again if want to use custom rom and other stuffs. If you continue using custom roms you would need it only once. What kind of things you do to hit that usage? 2 - Not sure but 99.9% chance are you not going to fail it cuz rooting is easy. 3 - Not really but some custom roms can help you with that, though it still depend on how you use it. 3 - Your call, i keep mine on 24 hours a day, and use 3G watchdog to keep an eye on the data usage. you can use Juicedefender too to have it schedule the time you need it to turn on/off. Added on August 26, 2010, 3:38 pm haha lol you're fast and btw i am worried even i took the 3GB/month plan...lolz... QUOTE(law_yew_wooi @ Aug 26 2010, 03:39 PM) Ya I think you need the drivers for HTC Sync |

You can use your phone to format, just under "SD & Phone Storage" in setting
Yeah everything will be gone after formatting, so please backup. And you got to use Titanium backup as well to backup your sd-ext stuffs (accessing as Disk Drive in windows won't get you to sd-ext) This post has been edited by samurai1337: Aug 26 2010, 06:49 PM |

Hand itchy as I feel like trying those vanilla-based ROM like OpenDesire
But I'm just wondering, the ROM is pretty much clean right? Can you guys survive without those fancy widgets from HTC? I don't know about you, but I can't survive without HTC's calendar, news and mail widgets. The default Android widgets aren't exactly eye-catching if you ask me Tried to find equivalent widgets in market but there isn't any (free ones at least). Any recommendation? AddOn: How's opendesire battery life btw? This post has been edited by samurai1337: Aug 27 2010, 04:27 AM |

QUOTE(akachester @ Aug 27 2010, 02:06 PM) Well, apparently OD comes with default APN for my DiGi Internet and MMS. Any idea whether we could set that automatically on NextSense? Cause i still cant receive MMS on that. Automatically, I don't knowBut Titanium Backup keeps my settings, and this APN (separate APN for MMS) works for me Name - Maxis MMS APN - unet MMSC - http://172.16.74.100:10021/mmsc MMS Proxy - 202.75.133.49 MMS Port - 80 MMS Protocol - WAP 2.0 MCC - 502 MNC - 12 APN Type - mms Others leave blank. sorry, didn't realize you're using Digi... lol o/t: NextSense 7.1 is on the way This post has been edited by samurai1337: Aug 27 2010, 02:24 PM |

Flashed to OpenDesire 3.6.1, the vanilla UI really gives a different user experience. It's not that bad, but it's really not that polished compare to the sense UI.
I can survive with it but I still think that Sense UI is the better option now - I think for me the HTC widgets (such as mail, calendar) are quite important. Kudos for HTC for making Sense UI relevant OD gives a a quadrant score of about 1.5k during first run but somehow I feel it's more laggy (maybe the way the applications menu works) I'll probably see myself using OD when HTC refuses any kind of update for Desire Gingerbread (which I really believe so) but there's one for OpenDesire. For now, I nandroid back to NextSense 7.0 (and it works!), business as usual |

No lagging with my setcpu settings
I'm using Interactive Governer (only in certain ROMs) though.. whenever my battery falls below 70% it will automatically downclock to 806Mhz, which I don't feel any lag either (maybe by a really, really small margin) Added on August 28, 2010, 3:32 pm QUOTE(akachester @ Aug 28 2010, 08:13 AM) I got ur feeling there samurai.i flashed 2 OD twice yesterday. When im on OD, i felt as if somethg is missing. I dont have all those widgets anymore which i depend so much but when i flash back 2 nextsense 7, i felt wanting 2go back to OD. it just gave me a different feel to android, and in a way, makes it felt more interesting. Lol.mayb i will flash again when sense got boring. I suppose Sense-based ROM is more suited for every-day use. Vanilla based ROMs dev are more into performance tuning / overclocking and stuffs. I'll stick with sense-based ROMs for some time By spending some money on widgets, and flashing some theme-mods, I think OpenDesire can look nice too - but that's just too much efforts for now This post has been edited by samurai1337: Aug 28 2010, 03:32 PM |

"You can make these any size, but the most common setup is 32 MB linux-swap partition, 512 MB ext2 partition, and remaining free space as a fat32 partition. In order to work properly, the partitions must be created in this order: fat32, ext2, linux-swap."
http://androidandme.com/2009/08/news/how-t...ndroid-apps2sd/ Depends on ROM I think |
