Dude...sometimes you need to do your own research instead of asking one-liner "A or B" question like this

We are trying to be helpful, but only if you show you put some efforts on your side. It's personal preference and there's no definite answer, especially when you don't even tell what are the things you're looking for

QUOTE(iceman31 @ Aug 21 2010, 04:07 PM)
thx . . got it work by installing new busy box . so how to back up ?

which shud i install ? LeeDrOiD V1.9 with A2SD+ or LeeDrOiD V1.9 with FroYo A2SD

i guess that a2sd+ is better which i dont need to install Mod Install Location rite
*
Recommend A2SD+, reasons:
1. Gives you more internal memory space compare to Froyo native A2SD
2. Applications will disappear on Froyo Native A2SD if you mount your SD card to PC as disk drive (since it's stored in FAT32 instead of ext3)

Good question, can find out when exactly I started a certain yahoo account? Im sure this account many years ago. If cannot check mail have to use browswer to check mail?
*
Seriously, I would much prefer going to use this app rather than using the native pop3 email
http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.yahoo.mobi...nt.android.mail

Anyway, I am mainly a GMail user so that doesn't bother me much tongue.gif

Hi question...
when i go to
Setting > Application > Manage application
then i press on the apps ,
some of the apps has "Move to SD card"
shud i select this ?? is this mean that the apps support native A2SD ??
which will really put the apps into the SD card ?? ( not putting in ext 3/4 and not in phone memory )
am i rite??
*
Yes, that's Froyo A2SD and it will move your apps to Fat32 file system

*
If you encounter problem, remove the HTC_Ime_MOD in the phone and install it again with the apk you found online

Can I remove the Gold Card after rooting and replace with other memory card?

Yes

QUOTE(iceman31 @ Aug 22 2010, 02:51 AM)
how to do partition using amon ra ? can tell me the steps .

thx
*
- Backup the content of your SD card

- Boot it and enter recovery mode

- And create a ext2 partition first (512MB and 0MB swap), and upgrade it to ext3 if possible

- Reboot and Restore the stuffs of your SD card

Mike3300 - actually, my question is more like, why do you actually need a goldcard? Are you using a telco-branded AP set or something?

i downgraded my friend's desire on hboot 0.92 back to 0.80 then rooted using unrevoked method. It works. Your hboot0.92 needs to be downgraded 1st back to 0.80 so that you could root it back again.
*
How did you actually downgrade? By flashing it back to the stock Eclair ROM from HTC??

I've come across this thread
http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-desi...owngrade-hboot/

It seems that you need to do more than just flashing the RUU (official HTC ROM)

I just changed back to Modaco Stock FroYo at the moment and its unplayable. Need to reflash back to NextSense i guess.
*
Do you happen to use setcpu? If yes I think it is laggy when you just boot it, it happens to me that my nextSense is laggy for 10 minutes after booting, but after that it's really smooth and no issue

Guys,

My phone is using SLCD and i On my phone by holding the BACK button, my HBOOT is version 0.83xxxxx. So i believe i have to follow instructions from here to root? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=748618 . So right now, before i proceed to rooting what precautions i need to do?
*
Same step actually compare to HBoot 0.80 and 0.75, the only difference is that you need to flash a special "ClockworkMod Recovery v2.5.0.1 SLCD" in unrevoked

precautions? As usual, do a backup, and be patient and extra careful while flashing radio.

Going forwards, it will not be as easy as now to use pirated apps on Android
http://www.androidauthority.com/index.php/...t-pirated-apps/

Anyway, please do not openly discuss where or how to get certain pirated apps here.

Instructions on Rooting and ROM flashing are more or less the same, I followed this one when I did mine:
http://rootmydroid.co.uk/guides/desire/how...our-htc-desire/

Yours will be the same as well (with the only exception on the SLCD recovery image)

If you want to use NextSense 5.3 A2SD+, you also need to do a partition - EXT3 512MB, Swap 0MB, the rest - Fat32 (bear in mind that every time you partition all data in SD card will be lost, so do a backup first and restore afterward)

is it just me or is nextsense 5.3 drains battery pretty fast. i just charged 2 hours ago n after some texting itz down to 80%. wasnt like this before i rooted and was on stock rom.
*
You aren't the first one saying this... many people complain that NS5.3 is draining battery (comparing to 3.4)

To me, it's been pretty decent, and I'm comparing it with 5.2. Not sure if it makes a difference but I downclocked my CPU to 806Mhz and fix to 245Mhz when screen is off.

ummm . anyone can explain ?

i enter recovery mode ? then partition . but all i see is formating or mount/unmount . or i go into wrong place ?

thx . going to reflash into leedroid 1.9 . only use 1.8 for a day . lol
*
I'm not sure because I use AmonRA recovery and the menu could be different from Clockwork - maybe you can try with "Formatting ext3 partition" or something? Otherwise, try ROM Manager from market, it will reboot and partition by itself after you choose the right option in the GUI.

Tempted to try Leedroid 1.9 (since no update from NextSense for...uhm...just a week tongue.gif) but in the end didn't go for it due to the fact that Leedroid and Nextsense are really similar... Maybe will try it next time when there's more updates.

so you guys don use any task killer?

Yeah... if the application is poorly written I may as well avoid using it.. (although most of the time I can't tell from surface)

Therefore, I use autokiller for memory management
