Just completed mine 1 minute ago, it is 137MB from Setting>>SD & Phone storage.  Of course it is will ext3 setup.

Your problem solved?  Now working like charm? 

this is  what i did just now:
1. copy new ROM and Radio to SD card.
2. Enter into Recovery.
3. Flash ROM. Do not reboot.
4. Flash Radio. It will require Reboot to continue.
5. So Reboot System Now.
6. The reboot will auto go into Recovery Mode again.
7. Partition SD card with swap,ext2 and FAT32.  Upgrade ext2 to ext3.
8. Reboot System Now.
9. Done.  It will take a while to boot into phone.

Just for your info, for the preparation, I did a Titanium Full Backup.  Dun forget about this. 

i think i am using Amon_RA. But I did not do a Unrevoked process this time.  I think did once and it (Amon RA) will be inside your phone forever.

I dun know why but it did went into recovery automatically.

Actually I forget to put in 1 step - the wiping data steps.  So it should be:

3. Wipe data/factory reset, Wipe cache, Wipe Dalvik-cache, Wipe SD:ext partition.
4. Flash ROM. Do not reboot.

8. Partition SD card with swap,ext2 and FAT32. Upgrade ext2 to ext3.
9. Reboot System Now.
10. Done. It will take a while to boot into phone.

EDIT:  Just ran a few round of Quadrant, the score is 1,423, my highest so far.  No overclock is done, just a fresh flashed system. 

i dun not even restore all the green items relates to system.  My restore from Titanium has so far dun have any issue on NextSense 5.3 and 7.0, especially for program like NoteEverything, SplashID, etc which are not system related at all.  But this latest flash to 7.1 for these programs all caused a reboot automatically. 

Nevermind, just finish reflash, rebooting now, hopefully all ok.    Now quite familiar with the flashing steps already, no need to refer to the guide step by step already. 
ok, for the the first flashing of 7.1, i can't install quick system info, the phone will reboot automatically.  After the reflash 2nd time, all things seems ok now.  I installed quick system info and check, my 1GB ext3 is also about 770++MB free.  I think maybe it is normal coz some system file should be installed inside.

I tried formatting my SD again yesterday which has an EXT partition. Apparently, i made a mistake last time saying you can just format like that You cant format and remove the EXT partition.

Tried to follow the way recommended before but apparently, it won't work. You cant just go into Disk Management and remove volume, as there is only 1 volume (If you plug in directly via USB cable). You need to remove your memory card, plug in via card reader, and only then the EXT3 partition will be visible as Unallocated Partition. However, for some reason i could not remove that volume. All i did was to connect it into a Linux machine, and format it. It is still showing 6.9GB after that (from a 8gb card), and only when i plug back into my phone and format the SD from the phone, it shows back 7.5GB with no EXT partition.

Anyone have any easier way to do that?

Try SlideIT Keyboard instead of Swype. it doesnt take a lot of internal space like swype after u install it. so SlideIT is better than Swype.

Normally shud last over 3days.

I always charge using the external adapter and not the USB

As far as i can see, most of the release are basically some minor bug fixes reported by certain people. Thus, if you do not face any problem on 7.4, i suggest stick with it. Unless those fixes are major ones
