i suspect it was the sound of the spring rubbing against the plate when going over uneven road / bump.
check all of the abs' bolt nut; including top mounting if it was properly tightened. usage of slightly incompatible bolt nut
will caused it to produce the sound after a few days too.

Top mount bolt was one of the thing i checked... i shake the car n look for the sign the bolt moving...

i think the spring rub wit the top hat..

wd40 might loosened the thing..jk tongue.gif
last time a friend's car having the same problem, i help her to jack up the affected front area, find a compatible spanner/s and tightened the big bolt nut in the middle, followed by the other 3 and the sound gone.
btw, if you tightened the bolt nut while the car is not jack up , it won'y work. this is due to the weight it has to support.

you need to open up the rubber cover for the big bolt nut.
lolz...too much of laverage or drill will only kill / loosened the top part of the absorber screw. it's the correct technique that matter.
am using standard size spanner. will foldable( to L shape) one end. bought from ace hardware at 9.90 bucks .
one hand pressing the top part that hooked up to the bolt nut and another hand tightening. a slight thick! or thud! sound that's all.
once you jack up the car, it will be different feel. not as hard smile.gif
btw, am into fitness as well, so, this is just part of arm workout tongue.gif
