QUOTE(PJusa @ Aug 26 2010, 07:58 PM) MilesAndMore, thanks for the info. searched high and low on the website and didnt find that information. 50 bucks and no bonuspoints is not worth it for me. might be usefull as secodary card if i used the 5k with alliance bank already though. Actually Alliance Bank should be the secondary card once you reach the cap on the OCBC card. You only need to spend RM1k on 5% stuff on the OCBC to max the cap from Jan 2011 onwards and then move your spending to the Alliance Bank card.

QUOTE(chemistry @ Aug 27 2010, 05:09 AM) I don't have a printer but a scanner. I'm waiting for the form which is sent by regular mail, but will submit it via email instead. I'll post the waiting time later on. you could try to get the electronic version and modify it using photoshop or paint. I posted it in a earlier thread and my blog. It's an image file.

My own strategy is to max it with all the 5% stuff especially DINING as that is a segment not being covered by other cards. Example would be internet bills (utility), power, water. I don't mind living with 2.5% for petrol and mobile phone bills if my expenditure for the other parts can hit RM1k a month.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Aug 28 2010, 02:07 AM) wah, you do eat a lot but you are right that OCBC is the only card that gives 5% cash rebate for dining. However the places I frequent for dining have discount or offers which is more than 5% for other cards except for TGIF. As for mobile phone bills, I'm too lazy to go change. 1K very easy if you offer to pay for colleagues hehehehe. Anyway i think with petrol + dining + grocery + utilities, i think can hit RM1k. the rest can use Alliance.

QUOTE(travelyew @ Aug 28 2010, 04:49 PM) Correct, I just realize that both principal and supplementary card share the total cash back.. 1 thing to note that after Dec 2010, max credit limit one should have for the card is rm5k. (before easy payment, balance transfer etc.). Easy payment better use another card cause no points and no cashback.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Aug 30 2010, 11:16 PM) Last week OCBC CS told me they sent out my card on 25th Aug by courier but have yet to receive it today. So called OCBC and the CS confirmed again card sent out on 25th but vis normal post OCBC damn kedekut lah, somemore normal post not reliable. Not only that, card activated automatically, gave me a heart attack. Asked them to block the card until I get the card and call them back. Strange, when I got my card, it needed to be activated by calling into their IVR.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Aug 31 2010, 09:45 PM) To MilesAndMore or David: I remember someone asking which card allows it holder access to airport lounges worldwide but did a search here and the older thread but nothing. Can you please post this info in the first page so no need ask all the time. Alliance Plat - access to KLIA no limit. Citibank Premier Miles - worldwide airport lounge twice a year (saw thier website need to apply before hand). Citibank Plat - access to KLIA no limit (*may actually have a limit of 12 times a year).

yeah, but benefits states the free for life part. The fees and charges is likely required by Bank Negara to be published (if the the FOL offer is revoked)

QUOTE(Shinichi @ Sep 2 2010, 11:09 PM) Just reached 1 year now... not sure if this is the reason. But they only tell me submit CC copy but not Amex... Mine is Amex Gold CC. Not sure if they treat all Amex as charge card... I hope this is not true... cause my Amex Gold CC is the only way I can apply for OCBC Titanium... else I'm out of luck Can always apply with standard documents....

QUOTE(exentric_nova @ Sep 3 2010, 09:21 PM) Hey guys, my bro's fiancee says she can pay her CC through Maybank2U. I'm not sure exactly how so if you guys do know, do enlighten me. Did a search on this but came up empty. Bank is UOB. GIRO Interbank transfer. There is a service charge in case you are not aware. http://www.maybank2u.com.my/mbb_info/m2u/p...al/ACC-AccountsThis post has been edited by zenquix: Sep 3 2010, 09:33 PM

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Sep 4 2010, 02:01 AM) Or simply open a Basic Savings Account. This way the first two IBG in a month will only be charged RM0.50 instead of RM2. And if you use Citibank or Standard Chartered, you will only be charged RM0.50/IBG and mind you that RM0.50 is their normal IBG fee. Both Citibank and Standard Chartered charge the lowest overall IBG fee in town. Actually lowest is HSBC. Their IBG rate is FOC. Edit: Of course there is a service charge unless you can maintain RM20k in HSBC This post has been edited by zenquix: Sep 4 2010, 02:40 AM

I got answer from MBB. The MBB Petronas Visa Plat has all the same benefits as a standalone MBB Visa Plat. (Guess there is no advantage of the vanilla card anymore).

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Sep 10 2010, 01:00 PM) Sorry. Should be 3 weeks ago and they had already billed me for those transactions. Not too sure if they will credit the cash back by the end of the week of the end of the campaign. Anyway, still pretty sure i didn't get it. As a matter of fact, i have benefited absolutely nothing from any of the promotions HSBC has since last year. The cash back is only credited after the promotion (for both periods). Recall it in the T&C. Think it was 4-6 weeks after end of promotion.... This post has been edited by zenquix: Sep 11 2010, 10:38 AM

QUOTE(eddievh @ Sep 11 2010, 12:28 AM) And for OCBC TI,the promo ending year should be 2011 not 2010 as you stated. Hmmm? Doesn't the promo end on Dec 2010? Reverting to RM50 from Jan 2011 onwards? Edit: Oops my fault for not looking at the error in question This post has been edited by zenquix: Sep 11 2010, 02:05 AM
