Do you think how many CS know what MCC being assigned to merchants?
And there is no way for credit card user to get this information on receipt.

Starbuck and coffee bean should be categorize under MCC 5813. Payment with OCBC Titanium should get 5% rebate.
5% rebate for dining is not only for restaurant but any transaction with MCC 5811 (caterers), 5812 (eating places or restaurant), 5813 (drinking places) or 5814 (fast food restaurants).

From this list of MCC (here),
MCC 5813 (drinking places) includes alcoholic beverages, bars taverns, cocktail lounges, nightclubs, discotheques.  thumbup.gif
*
Yes I have checked that before. The CS told me a different thing. I don't want to argue with her as I have no proof saying whether Starbucks and coffee bean are 100% under that category, the same goes to groceries. The only way to know whether you are eligible for the 5% is to wait for the next statement after spending. Then we can judge how good this card is.

It is quite difficult and troublesome to check the cash back details given by OCBC Titanium MC, if you have done too many transactions in the particular statement month. It only shows the cumulative cash back for 1% and 5% respectively.
*
Does it show any MCC for that particular transaction in the statement?

No. Banks won't show these to customers.
*
Then I guess have to do manual calculation to identify whether a particular transaction is entitled for 5% rebate or not. Gosh...

which cc shall i apply to transfer my existing balance in citibank?
which cc will give the similar CL as my citibank which is rm30K

wanna transfer as can save some interest
*
Some of the balance transfer I know.

MBF with 12months 0% interest but with condition of minimum RM300 spend per month. Otherwise I think RM20 will be charged to your acc. Combining all your bills and necessary spending like groceries and petrol, the target is easily reached.
RM300 will give you 90 points (not even equivalent to RM1).
For a year, you will receive 1080 points (roughly RM10 more or less)
Max: 7.5k

OCBC Ti will give u 6 months 0% with rebates on your bills, groceries, petrol.
RM300 will give you RM15 rebate.
For a year, you will receive RM180 rebate but after half year you will need to find another BT offer.
Max: 60% of CL

Other banks seem to charge with low interest rate or 1-time upfront charge, 2% and above. CIMB also has one BT offer but I haven't look at it yet.

It will be better for you to change from one BT to another, troublesome a bit but no more interest add on. But then you may need to apply CC every 3 to 6 months.

someone got 5% from tesco, tesco express and esso using his Ti card. jusco is 1%. if you read chinese, here's the link: http://cforum.cari.com.my/viewthread.php?t...&extra=page%3D1
*
Good news for tesco. But he spent on jusco departmental store and not the supermarket. Not sure does it make a difference or not.
Too bad I don't have JustOne (I guess it is no longer offered), the current Ambank promotion still not bad for Jusco.

wonder if paying TM through tmonline is grouped under the 5% merchandise...
*
Someone has to try it. But if you do auto billing, you got discount from TM. Assuming u spent RM100 monthly, online payment will only give you RM5 rebate if MCC is correct. Auto billing will give you RM9 (RM4+5%) if MCC is correct.

Same as postpaid bill (like digi) which will give u RM5 rebate for auto billing.

No body mention about it...
*
In my opinion, C4, tesco, giant are all under one place, so by right they should have the same MCC while jusco normally split into 2 or 3 sections, so it could have different MCC. Well, just have to try tongue.gif

Eh? But it deducts RM4 for me every month (Stated as discount for auto billing).

You will not get any rebate for TM auto billing with OCBC Titanium card.
RM2 rebate only for VISA card.
*
I don't think it is true. I use AMEX also can get rebates.

Yes it mentioned as Autopay discount. But should serve the same purpose right?

So I guess it doesn't matter which credit card you use, it's what package you subscribe. Maybe I better confirm with TM before changing my AMEX to OCBC Ti.

Not sure whether OCBC online got any excel file export feature for easy calculation later, some banks do have such convenience.

For most people might fall under category 2% or 3% with additional 3% during promotion.
Unless you always use the car in your work, otherwise not really worth it. I'll stick with the existing cards with flat 5% regardless of spending tier. I think PB always like to have cash rebate tier in their promotion.

Last week someone mentioned about using payonline to pay bill like TNB, did anyone try before and shown in their statement as 5% rebate?

The Autopay is going to take effective only in 2 months (Not sure why so slow for TNB), so in the meantime I don't wanna go to the TNB and pay. Troublesome and somemore need to find parking bay. Just wondering whether the payonline works for OCBC Ti or not.

Btw, anyone manage to use OCBC Ti to pay for the Indah Water? As I see the payment method provided by IWK, OCBC is not in the list.

Besides, anyone knows what are the example for Computer Network/Information Services category and Wholesale Trade - Durable Goods category?

Normally autopay for TNB will take effect within a month if you apply for it at Kedai Tenaga.

The TNB guy told me so. Last time using autopay through AMEX is faster.

Maybe if you are a sales/marketing person and need to travel by car a lot or company provides you a car or even petrol allowance.

Why strive so hard to earn that 5%? An OCBC Titanium will do. thumbup.gif

Agree. This card already combine the benefits of most of the cards (more or less). Looks like Titanium cards are very good. Wonder will it stop issuing some day like SCB Justone.

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Sep 28 2010, 10:59 PM)
Therefore there is no real best credit card in the market with the exception of OCBC Bank MasterCard Titanium of course.
*
If OCBC can offer GST offset (RM50 rebate) by swiping 3 times within 60 days (like some banks do) is even better. Haha...Hopefully next year they have great promotions:)

can we pay the bill online via ocbc website?

same way as citibank?
*
Payonline website does allow you to pay bill online but currently whether it is 5% or 1% is still not sure yet. Maybe next month we can get some clarification as more and more people are getting the card approved this month.
But for some bills like TM or digi, auto billing gives you more discount.

OCBC offset the GST if you spend RM10k in total before your GST fee month.
*
Mm...that is for next year GST offset but it's already very good. So basically if you fully get all the rebates for the first month, you are getting RM70 actually, that would be spending RM4k. Not many people will get the full benefit from it. Furthermore, most people are holding more than 1 card.
Even for some restaurants, many cards may have promotions for 15%, 25% or even 50%. Sure you will use that card instead of this card. This card is very good for restaurants that is not having any promotion by cc.

There are hundreds of winners for the grand and first prizes. If you did send the sms at 9.00am sharp but still couldn't get the grand or first prize, I doubt who the actual winners are. I suspect they selected the winners based on spending amount, and this is against the T&Cs.
*
Every second there are thousands of sms received by the system, so every sms has to queue up and wait for their turns. I tried both months also received the confirmation after half an hour. Just like when you are sending sms during New Year at 12am sharp. The other party may not get it instantly.
Since you are saying the same person won the first prize in both months (envy), maybe they have a good method or timing of sending sms? Perhaps they know what is the exact time used in SCB? Our 9am sharp maybe 10 seconds late compare to SCB  That is already a big difference.
