I'll go for D3100 anytime if choice is between D5000 and D3100! Body more or less the same, just D3100 has newer sensor.

Quick technical question yah, any way to reduce or eliminate glare when shooting into direct light source? Tried shooting the moon yesterday but there is lil bit of glare....

Remove your filter. If filter already removed and still flaring, its your lens. Nothing you can do about it other than upgrading to the better lens. Those Nano coat is designed to reduce flare.

iono, dpreview reviewed it and it doesn't seem that bad. Just moderate barrel distortion. I think it's still acceptable?

Plus, Photoshop can correct mar... XD

Why worry your D3000 will be outdated... When everyone was using D90, D5000, i was using the old but good D40. 5 years old model. Doesn't mean better gears shoot better photos.

My personal sifu which toke me into photography world always said.

Good gears doesnt mean good photo's, you should be proud when you can produce better pohots than those who can't with better gears.

Can can, go Filter>Distort>Lens Correction

I think, it's fixed in every lens depends on the optics? I don't think shoot far or close will affect it. It's kinda only visible when you shoot a scene with perfect straight lines.

Just my limited understanding on it, not so sure, better ask the pros. Hahaha

Yea, although I sometime get kinda sick of the 55mm limit, but it's still a good kit lens. Lightweight and compact. wub.gif
