D3100 and 1000D, can answer easily D3100 will be much better than 1000D. Different generation of DSLR, cannot compare lo. If want compare also is D3100 and 550D.

Both also entry level la tongue.gif, but the D3100 would probably beat the crap out of 550D in terms of IQ, ISO especially!

Currently can be considered the best entry level in terms of IQ, but sad thing is cannot use the cheap 50mm f/1.8D with AF lol.

Yes, Nikon sensors are from Sony. But I think the newer ones seems to be built by Nikon themselves. Not too clear on this fact either.

Guys and girls, I need some help. Technical problem here.

Wanna ask you all who are using lenses with M/A feature. Does your M/A ring still rotates even if it reaches the focus limit either at infinity or closest focus?

I got my brand new 35mm f/1.8G last month and now I am a little paranoid about the focus ring on this lens. The ring still moves around if I apply a little bit more force on it. Even when it reaches the focus limit, either at infinity or the closest focus distance.

Is that just normal? Or I am thinking too much? Please help, thanks. unsure.gif unsure.gif unsure.gif

I just got mine 2 days back and been testing it......so far, i don't see/feel the ring rotating even when focusing normally or at either side of the limit.....but it does feel a bit flimsy though

I mean just try to turn beyond the focus limit, the ring will still be able to slide around. But never mind, I got it clear, it's nothing. Been trying with my friend's 35mm and 18-200mm VR.

I am just a lil paranoid. tongue.gif tongue.gif
