QUOTE(NXaqua @ Sep 24 2010, 11:17 AM) Thanks for sharing , guys. If you wish to view videos in Apple's supported format : AIR VIDEO is simple and most important is fast - a 1.5 hour movie takes about 20-25 minutes compared to using example Handbrake to convert ( an hour plus ).Guess I m back to square one on the streaming Video to my iPad. Is there any simpler ways for us newbies? If you dont want to use this and willing to view it in its default formats eg avi, mov, mkv etc then use Cinexplayer ( free ) or VLC ( free ) but you still need to transfer the video files over thro iTunes which is pretty fast |

QUOTE(NXaqua @ Sep 24 2010, 08:26 PM) Hi zerko, Why don't you try yourself, air video is free. Use this only if you want your movies converted to apple approved formats. I don't think there is any faster option than airvideoI have lot of movies in my external harddisk, and based on your experience using Air Video, can I assume this app will help me to sync to my Ipad? Thanks a lot. I have mention earlier transfer thro iTunes is fast but you need use cinexplayer or vlc to play it |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 27 2010, 01:58 AM) I'm sorry if I post my questions on the wrong thread. Seldom post here and if these questions are cleared, I may get my iPad this weekend... Spore online store accepts only Spore credit cards and deleivery address must be same as credit card address1) I'll be getting my friend who works in SG to buy me the iPad. I'll order it through SG Online Apple Store and get it shipped to her office. I'll be paying via CC, and does anyone tried using CIMB card before and it went through? 2) If she doesn't open the packaging and let it sealed and unopened till hands it over to me, is there any possibility that she will be taxed even for just one unit? 3) The Online Store shows SGD 728 for 16GB WiFi version, is that the final amount I'll be paying? Thanks a lot for reading and looking forward to your replies! I'm sorry this is my first time buying stuff from overseas. NO need to worry about tax - I have been buying notebooks, smartphones all intact bringing in from Spore for last few years - the customs didn't even bother if is only a unit ; if ask just said is for personal use. They don't believe, just open box to show them |

Got myself a 2-1 camera connection kit from dealextreme.com for US26.80. It comes with a USB and SD card slot.
Got it after a week of order When you first plug in, you will have a error message that device not recognized by Apple. Is OK, just use iFile and you can access all the files and transfer it to your ipad |

Got this tip from : http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=2933410
You can play any video file using IPAD VLC, just rename file ext. Rename the filename to filename.avi. Thats it! Any supported format in the Desktop version, Ipad version support. just rename to something.avi. eg. superduper.rmvb to superduper.rmvb.avi superduper.vob to superduper.vob.avi Load in using itunes, and play! To remove, delete the file from within itune's ipad/apps/vlc, highlight the file and press del key. I dont have any RMVB files - can some one test and revert |

iPAD STYLUS : A post by a member at Spore Hardwarezone:
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=2881557 Just want to weigh in finally on my "stylus search" saga. I've bought 4 styluses in my quest for the optimum stylus to be used for handwriting on my iPad, in particular on the Penultimate app. Note that I'm not interested in sketching, drawing etc, because these are more "forgiving" operations, compared to handwriting. If the stylus does well on handwriting, the rest will be a walk in the park. Looking at the attached pic, from left to right they are: 1. Rumiere: bought from the 6th flr Mac store in Sim Lim. $17. Pros: writes relatively well. Cons: too short, causes finger fatigue. Probably good for use on the smaller iPhone. Rating: 6/10 2. Boxwave: bought from Boxwave online (USA). $35 incl shipping. Waited 2 weeks. Pros: writes OK (but not as good as the Rumiere), better grip as it's shaped like a real pen, compared to the Rumiere. Cons: expected more of it as it received good online reviews, not enough weight to give stability. Rating: 6.5/10 3. iFinger: bought from Popular in Jurong Pt. $35 which included 20% discount for members (offer till end Sep). Pros: writes pretty well, almost same as Rumiere, better grip as it's shaped like a real pen, compared to the Rumiere. Quite well made, and has some weight compared to the Boxware to add to the stability. Cons: has a real ballpoint pen tip on the other hand, I thought this is unnecessary, as the ink shaft does not seem to be replaceable. Rating: 7.5/10 4. China stylus: bought from Dealextreme.com (HK/China online merchant). $4 incl shipping. Waited 2 weeks. Pros: none. Cons: next to unusable on the iPad. The tip is just a block of hard rubber. Feels more like a rubber erase than anything else. Even simple operations like touching on weblinks is not smooth. $4 paid is $4 too much. Rating: 0/10 I noticed that the tips of the first 3 styluses are all made of soft rubber. In fact, it seems that the softer it is, the better it is in handwriting. So Rumiere's is the softest, next is iFinger, next is Boxwave. In total, I spent $91 in my "quest". In the end, iFinger is the overall "winner". I will use that going forward. :-) |

QUOTE(wyyam @ Sep 29 2010, 06:08 PM) Hey, I juz realize I can't upload my photo from iPad to Facebook.. It is more " leceh" to do it on the ipad; launch Facebook on browser. Type in your message on " What on your mind" . Below you will see a ATTACH - select it - Photos will popup - Select UPLOAD PHOTO - select upload via email. You will be prompted to " Send my upload email to me now" . Thereafter check your mail box and proceed accordingly. Btw, I m using friendly Facebook.. Oso can't.. Any method ? Any sifus can teach me how to upload photo from ipad to facebook? btw, dunno is my ipad's wifi got problem or wat.. Sometimes i cant use my connection even thou got that wifi thing up there, When it gone, or stated there not connected, i click on my wifi n say unable to join.. i forget the network n re-enter the pass but oso unable to join until i reboot my ipad n finally can be use.. Is it normal? not sometimes but most of the time will like this.. especially when i nvr use for quite a long time.. ANy bros can answer my problem ah? lol.. For all the hassle you need to go through , better do it through your desktop !! I do not experience such wireless connection problems YET. Your stated problem is ABNORMAL. If you do not face such connectivity issues using your notebook then is most probably the iPad problem. Have you upgraded your firmware to at least 3.2.1 which addresses some WiFi issues Added on September 29, 2010, 7:20 pm QUOTE(NXaqua @ Sep 29 2010, 06:56 PM) Hi Zerko n other sifus Since you can now see the movies in iTunes, you can sync it over. Go to DEVICES/iPad : On the iPAD window in iTunes, go to Movies Tab. TICK " Sync Movies" and whatever other option you needI have just converted my movies with Air Video, then save under Movie. But when I sync to my iPad it won't work. It's still under 'movies' of the iTunes . Can any sifus help me out here. Thanks This post has been edited by benny888: Sep 29 2010, 07:20 PM |
