OMG, my left ear is noticeably smaller as well.
I use medium for my left and large for my right for most eartips. But for the sake of sharing and not get any stares when hanging my IEM on my neck, I use both medium when I'm out and about.

Everytime I visit this thread I learn something new. Today it is the CEntrance DAC.

Was wondering if there are others with better fit. I haven't tried one but every single review says the fit is bad, and the cable is noisy. If it's cheap enough though, I think I can bite the bullet and have a go. Or else, sell it off to other suckers out there if I decide it's that bad.
Was looking into dynamics as I like their bass better than BAs. A dual driver dynamic, plus a triple driver BA would make my world complete.

There's not much obstructing my ear holes either. Not a single earbud in the world can be hung snuggly onto my ears, as there's is nothing to hold on to. They will fall by gravity alone.

Yeah, usually that's the case. I think you might prefer an IEM with a warm sound signature. Not bassy, but have this very soft sound.

The only warm sounding IEM I've tried is the Soundmagic PL50/PL30 and Sony's MDR EX-500/EX300, also Bose Triport in ear(but we'll skip that hunk of junk). I've owned the Sonys for over a year and didn't quite like the sound. Vocals are recessed and somehow the bass, although thumping didn't sound quite right. A bit foggy and muddy. From the Soundmagic however, the bass isn't thumping, but the sound is warm, and the bass is tight. You get treble energy too, and detail is above average for the price.

I also like the Shroom EB. I like it a lot actually. There's neutrality with it. The bass is enough, and you can feel it sometimes. It is a bit brighter sounding but never ear piercing even at high volumes, I like the treble, sparkly. I use the Gumstick with the Shroom EB and the Sony EX-300. EB wins hands down and priced quite identical. Haven't tried other Hippo but planning on buying the Hippo 10 or VB in the near future.

I have no experience with any apple products, but from what most are saying, they're below average(just as with most bundled earphones are).
Jaben sells the EB at 190 if I'm not mistaken. But you might want to try it yourself, the EB needs to be inserted quite deep into you ears for best effect, so you might not find it comfortable. For me I didn't mind as I have pretty big ear holes.

I don't recommend doing what I do.......biting the bullet most of the time. It is best for you to try them yourself. But I do recommend the EB if you like the sound signature.

I'd say no.
You'd want mids to highs with those, especially with female vocals and string instruments.

Then I suggest you go for a balanced IEM. If you can't try them yourself, read reviews. Then when you think you have read and searched enough, go ahead and try one. Just don't go looking for expensive ones for start so if you bought the wrong one you won't regret that much.

like ahpek says, yes, most IEMs do have their own unique sound even though they claim to be neutral. The most neutral ones are studio monitors, which costs enough to put us regular consumers at bay. And even they aren't purely neutral.

Balance is having everything pretty much equally. Not too much of everything. Balanced and neutral is closely related but not necessarily equal. Neutral usually means having just enough bass and sometimes cold sound. Balanced can mean having a warm sound yet able to hear everything. Just an example. Or vice versa.

Without audition I'd say the EB was my first very successful purchase. Most of my "just buy it later regret" purchases didn't turn out quite well.
The most expensive I have was the Sony EX-500. I sometimes miss its bass but the clarity and sparkle of the EB more than makes up for it's lack in boom.

Guys, any of you have ever owned AMP3?
How well does it stack up to it's similar little brother and identical cousin, the Rocoo-A/Gumstick? Just expanding my knowledge here so if I ever have the chance to go to Jaben I'd know what to try. If they have AMP3 that is.

Haha, I don't think I'm interested in buying one. Just interested in knowing how it sounds. Its format support is very limited, and from what I've read the thing is quite buggy.

But I do like how it looks though.

The AMP3 only supports WMA, WAV and MP3 if I can recall correctly. Dunno if it does support any other than listed.
The Cowon S9, Zen X-Fi2 are the two that I can recall being able to play pretty much anything. Again, if my memory serves me well.

For that effect, you'd need a neutral player, with no spike in any frequency, or a 'cold' sounding one. Even then, with any DAP that has enough power, it will be bassy even with any enhancements off. Headphones with bass will almost always present their character. I once tested a Sony EX500 with the EQ for bass at 'negative' Foobar2000, didn't remember exactly as it has no numbers to show. But the impact was still there and sounded a bit narrow when listening to orchestral music(which needed only the sound of bass and not the impact).

So what you'd want is a balanced headphone/IEM so you can EQ the thing to have bass, or have everything flat to hear everything as they should be.

Yeah, I have the gumstick. Bought it mainly to see what a Class A amp does to a portable DAP, and also the FLAC and APE support.

Just wondering if you have the black Radius DDM?

I think given the choice, 80% of Radius DDM buyers will opt for the black one.
I'll definitely be getting one by christmas. Maybe if there's enough of us DDM users, we can start our own thread.
