Celcom did notify her, though, right after she arrived back in Penang - her line immediately got barred after an SMS from Celcom. Very inconvenient..

On the SGS, I just double tap on the text area of a web page and the browser zooms and reflows the text for me to read. Just need to pinch scroll up and down..

Based on reports on the net, 2.2 for SGS will arrive in end Sept for Europe. No news as far I can tell, fom Samsung MY.

I added my Public Bank Mastercard to my Google Checkout account (i.e. my Google Account, !@#$ at gmail.com) via the PC. No problems at all to select MALAYSIA. After that buying apps on the Android Market (via the phone) was just a matter of clicking BUY and confirming the transaction.

If you're not planning to root or flash your SGS, then you'll just have to wait until official firmware updates appear via the Kies software.

As for why Samsung Malaysia has not announced anything officially, please contact them and ask. Even till now I see nothing mentioned about the DXJG4 official firmware update on Samsung's site, which has already been available for some time now.

Looks like you're out of luck, then, even if official firmware is available. Probably Samsung custcare center can help?

I did. Widgets are simple, but good enough for me. I'm using the Messaging, People, Calendar and Bookmarks widgets on 4 screens - each widget maximised to full screen.

Handcent does it, I think. I played with this feature before.

Handcent, you can find this app on the Android Market. It's a messaging app. It has many useful features e.g. read SMS text aloud, accept what you speak and convert to SMS text etc.

I go to Contacts app, choose to message someone and the prompt appears to use Handcent or Messaging, so I choose Handcent and make it default too.

Looks like your phone is lacking 1 app - the Google Search By Voice app. I couldn't find it on the Market, but I do have the APK file - got it from XDA-Developer Forum.

I have MarketAccess emulating T-Mobile US on my phone and I still couldn't find both on the Market. Weird..

Yes, need to root, I think. Can always unroot before claiming against warranty.
