QUOTE(guppy @ Aug 23 2010, 01:04 PM) From my (limited) understanding, Maxis has no way of knowing if a subscriber has exceeded his quota before the close of the billing cycle. If they had real time usage metering for each subscriber in place, they could then do any number of things including limiting data speeds as you suggested. Could be.. Also, a friend of mine just enjoyed her first RM1800 plus Celcom bill, because she went to Vietnam for a vacation and happily used her phone as a modem while roaming, assuming that Celcom would notify her or cap her data access. Celcom did notify her, though, right after she arrived back in Penang - her line immediately got barred after an SMS from Celcom. Very inconvenient..

QUOTE(raycsc @ Aug 23 2010, 02:29 PM) In HTC Desire, when you zoom into a webpage, the fonts get bigger but then the page automatically adjust itself so that the full page is still fitted within the screen, ie no need to scroll left and right to read whole article.... Can we do the same in our SGS? Any browsing software that we can install to achieve that? I didn't know that HTC Desire's web browsing was like that, real time text reflow no matter how much you pinch zoom? Wow. On the SGS, I just double tap on the text area of a web page and the browser zooms and reflows the text for me to read. Just need to pinch scroll up and down..

QUOTE(guppy @ Aug 23 2010, 02:33 PM) Ouch. That's nasty. Roaming data charges are killer, I usually disable my APN whenever I'm overseas as in I totally delete the APN/3G/MMS profile just in case. I'm paranoid that way. Eventually, Celcom agreed to reduce her outstanding amount to RM12xx. RM600+ discount, rebate or whatever they call it. Still painful, though.

QUOTE(yc1437 @ Aug 23 2010, 10:40 PM) Hi for those have experience to buy app fr market with market access, when doing creditcard payment, do you have the option to choose malaysia in the country selection? My SGS installed with JM5 + samset 1.9f cant find the country malaysia in android market when try to make payment I added my Public Bank Mastercard to my Google Checkout account (i.e. my Google Account, !@#$ at gmail.com) via the PC. No problems at all to select MALAYSIA. After that buying apps on the Android Market (via the phone) was just a matter of clicking BUY and confirming the transaction.

QUOTE(chewlee @ Aug 24 2010, 08:40 AM) i m waiting for 2.2, i never root or flash my sgs. there was news abo getting 2.2 on august, now end of sept, i hope it wont postpone again. Why there is no official news from samsung malaysia yet? are we sure samsung will upgarde the local firmware? If you're not planning to root or flash your SGS, then you'll just have to wait until official firmware updates appear via the Kies software. As for why Samsung Malaysia has not announced anything officially, please contact them and ask. Even till now I see nothing mentioned about the DXJG4 official firmware update on Samsung's site, which has already been available for some time now.

QUOTE(chewlee @ Aug 25 2010, 10:00 AM) I really dun understand why ppl willing to pay RM350 (RM2050-RM1699) extra for something without warranty. RM350 is enuff for you to subscribe the maxis data plan (500mb) for 7 mths, u just have to pay the remaining 5 mths to fulfill the contract. Different strokes for different folks la.

QUOTE(guppy @ Aug 25 2010, 10:18 AM) Has anyone bought Launcher Pro? Are the widgets any good? I did. Widgets are simple, but good enough for me. I'm using the Messaging, People, Calendar and Bookmarks widgets on 4 screens - each widget maximised to full screen.

QUOTE(raycsc @ Aug 25 2010, 06:23 PM) Oh, is it because it is not a free application that is why i couldn't find it on the Market....then how do you pay for it...i read that in Malaysia we cannot purchase application yet, right...... Yes, not free app. Can emulate non-Malaysian SIM to view paid apps on Android Market. Can buy the paid apps using Google Checkout account. Attached thumbnail(s)
