QUOTE(akira de aimbuster @ Aug 26 2010, 04:44 PM) ya i wonder too. And even though sgs is famous for able to play hd games smoothly, but not like many ppl are playing it Not everyone is into gaming. I bought the SGS for cloud sync (contacts, calendar, tasks), native video playback (i.e. without conversion) and a better Internet experience compared to other platforms.

QUOTE(ameeru_aniki @ Aug 31 2010, 05:46 PM) thanks.. so the difference is just the read/write, or does it effect the Android itself by using lower class? Dunno what the effect is to Android. I've used Class2 8GB before and now using Class4 16GB, both feel about the same, other than the bigger capacity on the 16GB..

QUOTE(mmmbop @ Sep 2 2010, 10:04 AM) Interesting. I agree that a simple flash on phone doesn't really helps... I'm eager to know more about the Market. Do you guys really satisfied with the type of apps available?... My last concern will be this being samsung, I fear the resell value will drops like hell... The SGS cam does pretty well under low light conditions. It only fails in 'no light' conditions. Apps-wise, I am satisfied. I don't do gaming much so I prefer productivity tools more than games. The Android Market is quite hard to navigate from the computer web browser, so I normally go to AppBrain to find stuff and push install to my phone. Lastly, resale value is not big concern for me. I don't buy phones worrying about resale values - I read reviews, I decide if the phone is suitable for me (features and price-wise) and I buy.

QUOTE(Ultimat3 @ Sep 3 2010, 05:21 PM) been a while and already V3?! Crazy! Have you guys heard of Samsung Galaxy Tab!? http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/02/samsung...xy-tab-preview/Quite nice, this Tab. Pity the screen's not Super AMOLED and it seems, also not protected by gorilla glass (like our beloved SGS). I think there are 2 other upcoming Android tablet alternatives - Archos (10 incher, forgot the model) and Toshiba Folio (with super speedy Nvidia Tegra2 chipset) something.. QUOTE(xproc @ Sep 4 2010, 04:35 PM) Hardware = Samsung Galaxy S, Software = HTC Desire, Outlook = iPhone4... right? I disagree. My thoughts - SGS (love), Desire (like), iPhone4 (if FOC)..

QUOTE(erymanthus @ Sep 5 2010, 05:15 PM) end of the day, still couldn't find a way to use MP3 as ringtones...sigh Err, I got this working since day 1. Create a folder called Ringtones on your external microSD memory (/sdcard/sd/ringtones for me). Dump the mp3 inside there. You should be able to see the mp3 files as options when you set your ringtone (under Settings). The same procedure probably works for the internal memory card too (/sdcard/ringtones for me), I think.. One other thing, no root is necessary - you're just creating data folders and dumping files in them, which is no different than the basic file management done on a PC. QUOTE(lch78 @ Sep 6 2010, 05:01 PM) My OCLF quadrant score drops to 1900++ after the update.. What is wrong? Previously it is 2100++ Upgraded to latest OCLF yesterday. My Quadrant benchmark is 2148, not much diff than 2151 which I got last week. Am on I9000UGJH2 with OCLF 1.6.5 (rooted with lagfix enabled). This has been the most stable firmware I've used, even though the Canadian firmware changed my phone from GT-I9000 to GT-I9000M. Stock ROM was JF4. Have tried JG1, JG4, JG8, JM5, JP3 and JH1 so far.
