you're still new. Will get used to it la. No worry. you can even be one of the wealthiest people in malaysia. top 10 richest in this country are mostly all immigrants. So its no problem.

NEVER EVER BE SORRY FOR TOUCHING SOMEONE!

Thats the malaysian culture. if you touched someone, make sure you say "suka tak? mau lagi?" and they will say "sa sayang, terima kasih"

touch, please touch me also. i love it when you touch me

Hi, we're in a similar situation regarding opening a restaurant as foreigners and we've found a few things...

You DON'T need to have a Malaysian business partner. We've just setup a company, legally, though an accountant and there was no problems. Only thing was that they didn't like the names we chose. That's about it. Once you've done that you need to get a bank account opened and then your food safety certificates and a tetanus injection for all your workers. There's a host of other forms etc that they only offer in Bahasa so you'll need a friend who can translate them.

You don't need to get a halal certificate, if your suppliers are halal certified then you can say that on your menu, signage etc. If you get a halal cert I believe that you need to employ malaysians but I'm not sure. That's only if you're not serving pork

I've been to Vietnam and pork appears so much in dishes that it would be odd not serving it but you will cut out a chunk of the market. Saying that, there are lots of restaurants that serve pork and are busy so I would say to test out your food on a focus group and gauge the feedback. Use social networking lots! and let me know when you want a website built wink.gif

Other than that it's relatively easy for foreigners to setup a restaurant in Malaysia if you've got the investment.

I wish you the best of luck and let me know how you get on. It'll be interesting to follow your project.

Is Shitbrix a brand? If not it sounds like a great name for a breakfast cereal rclxms.gif
