Thank you for your interest in the Golf TSI and 5 years Warranty.

1st of all we appreciate the fact that you have brought this matter to our attention, as we are not aware that this issue is posted in the forum.
We also appreciate the fact that you have decided to seek clarification direct from us rather than refer this to a 3rd party.

For your clarification, I have checked with my After Sales colleagues and this matter did happen.
However there was a miscommunication from the dealer After Sales team in addressing the problem without fully relying on our 5 years Warranty policy to our customer.
We have taken all the necessary steps to rectify the miscommunication and have reinforced our dealer partner on the next step based on Volkswagen service/warranty procedures.
Our dealer are in the process of contacting the customer on our decision. Therefore, we are unable to share with you the outcome, as yet.
Safe to say, it is a positive solution.

Rest assured En. Muhammad Hanif, we are committed to the 5 years Warranty promise.
This promise have not change.
However there are still gaps/area of improvements where ‘human factor’ are concerned in terms of core competences, knowledge, skill, and experience in executing those promises.
We are accelerating those core competences improvement program to close the gap and meet the standards.

For your information, Volkswagen warranty for battery is 2 years.

We hope the explanation have satisfied your queries.
We also hope that this incident have not dented your confidence towards our promise and owning a Volkswagen Golf TSI.

Hi,

I’m interested in the Volkswagen Golf 1.4 tsi + 5 Years Warranty. However, after reading a comment about the nonsense 5 Years Warranty provided. Is it true?

Quoting comment from a friend of mine:

“Sad story...

During CNY, I am facing difficulties to start my car and suspecting my battery running out of power. My car only 8 months old and shounldn't R.I.P that early. Though, I sent my car to VW Jalan Ipoh Service centre and the service consultant do checking for me. He told me that my car's Radio causing the battery drained even your vehicle is switch OFF.

Initially, full battery = 12.5 +/- and my result showed nearly dead = around 9.5  
He said my car require check & rectify and download the new software for the radio update and claim for a new battery however their system are not fully online and link to VGM yet.

So that, he advice to send my car to Wearnes VW, Sg.Besi.

Well, this morning I sent my car to Wearnes VW and I told him my issue...He call the Service advisor at VW Jalan ipoht. After that, I asked him that am I eligible to claim a new battery because the radio causing the battery leaking off the energy. He replied that I'm not be able to claim a new battery because the battery warranty is over and subject based on individual driving condition. I was like...WTH ? I told him...Is not about individual driving condition, is because of the radio issue...He never reply anything to me  ”
