at first that was a problem for me too, no electric seats but then i spoke to my client who drives a 5-series and he says that electric seats are overrated.

Pros
- cool and you get to store all your seat settings
- better adjustment capabilities

Cons
- when it breaks down it is costly to repair
- if you get into an accident and the car battery is cut off, you can't move the seat. A case where firemen had to use tools to free my client after he got into a major accident
*
Yea man.. manually adjustable seats are much better!

But the reclining adjustment is kinda moving decades backwards with the 'roll the knob till you're satisfied' technology.. I have that in my Alfa, though not really hard to use or not that we adjust the recliner that often since I'm the only one who drives it but if I'm waiting for someone and want to put the seat down instantly to rest, it can be cumbersome.. hehe.. by the time I get it down the fella has already come out and I've to twist it back up. laugh.gif

There is a promo interest rate as low as 1.38% for volkswagen car this month!..

http://www.motortrader.com.my/Cars/NewsHea...this-month.aspx

But I think that is for loan of 3 years I guess..

If I'm not mistaken, it's only for the beetle...

Oh is it?.. Sorry didn't notice that... I guess VW is trying to dump all the beetles.. personally I don't find any single thing that I like with the beetle. Hope there is new much improved (with TSI engine perhaps) beetle coming soon.
*
I personally found the VW Beetle's seats more comfy than the VW Golf tongue.gif but that's about it.

The VW sales people told me some time back that they're closing the VW Beetle plant (cant remember where) for (cant remember how many) months for upgrade/renovation works so they won't be any more new beetles rolling out till the plant is up again.

Could it be that they are going to release a new VW Beetle hence they are trying to get rid of the current existing stock?  hmm.gif  hmm.gif  hmm.gif
*
that's probably true as well cos I did see the new Beetle (it's shaped seems slightly different from the current model) in some magazine a few months ago...

hmm.. even my Alfa with 145QV engine has this whining sound each time I accelerate-leh (can hear it from inside quite clearly) and it's decades old!! stop talking about whining sound and get to the part where is the car as quiet as the Golf or not! tongue.gif

See you all buying Golfs and Polos, I think I'll aim for the Scirroco (if the 'BIG BOSS' allows)... hehe

well i took the polo in 222 for a spin today... the red one. First impression. very nice looking car from outside. Driver side interior looks the same as golf. when looking at the aircond knob. Ai ya... manual leh.. put off liau... then no traction control. and very very basic. Fit and finish not as nice as golf from germany. But very much better than Japanese cars. Space. very very cramp. feels like sitting in a kancil or myvi. Back sit. seriously not comfortable. Driver seat ok. So comfort i feel very very poor. Boot space., seriously small. very very small, not joking go see yourself.
Engine... small but seriously powerful. dont look at 1.2cc ah... it flies very very well. A bit of a lag under 2k rpm. but after that it just goes. DSG nothing to say lah same like golf. only without paddle shits.

But in the end went to lancer next door. sat in the EX,,, the seat feels so much more comfortable than the polo. And size so much bigger.. now the question is. is it worth to pay for the engine and gear box while sacrificing all the comfort and space? Polo or VW seriously know how to make a very very good engine and gearbox. At 110k i think i have to review my choices.

To axel. have you taken the polo for a spin. My backs not feeling very comfortable you know. just a mere 15 min drive around.
*
Not yet bro...
I also suspect that the seats won't be as comfy.. the Golf seats were slightly above average and the Beetle seats were much more comfy than the Golf. I've yet to take it for a spin.. wanna wait for the new Rocco to be out before I give the sales people a call then test both.

Definitely the Lancer would be more comfy! hehe... but I didn't quite like the Lancer's interior.. the plastic dashboard kinda cheap looking sad.gif

fiesta got test vehicle already ?

long time got already bro... I test drove it a month before I test drove the new Golf sweat.gif I think it's because there were only 3 units in Malaysia and they had a deal with Citibank with a few malls to give away the car as a prize.

i think in UK the price of roc is cheaper than golf, provided the same engine
here they charged extra rm30k throwing out two doors  doh.gif
*
typical 'reason' they give here is that it's 2 doors but the 2 doors are much larger hence the 'extra charge' sweat.gif same goes for hatchbacks... the glass is larger for the hatchback hence the 'extra charge'

Yeah it's one of the major drawback, its back row space is even smaller than my Vios.. I think it's hard to squeeze in 3 peoples at the back

Added on November 12, 2010, 11:07 pm

Is there any non-SC for VW outsides?
*
true but these days I find that almost every car can't comfortably seat 3 people at the back, especially for long distance driving sad.gif
tested it in a BMW 3 series, an Alfa Romeo, tested it in a Merc (can't remember which model), tested it in a Honda, Toyota, etc

I think it's made in such a way that if you want to ferry 5 people or more, you gotta buy a MPV or SUV doh.gif it's like we're being played by the car industry

yesterday i was crusing at 160km/h. suddenly a car from behind with HID use high beam to signal me. Sweat, it was a white volkwagen golf TSI. i recognise it is a TSI version due to the rear lamp. GTI type MK6 is diff. this car was running about 200km/h and overtake car like zigzag way. pretty cool.

No lah.... expecting to start a small family soon, so thought a small suv would be more suitable. Something like the Tiguan or XC60.

wished they had the Touran over here... wanna see how much it cost and how big it is...

Jus wondering is there any special thread for polo owners?feel really small here wit all the rocs and golf owners...

Ive been monitoring my fc for quite sometime now but cant get the fc advertised in the brochure. I dunno why.

The bes i can get for city driving around 13km/l and highway 15km/l using ron95. Any comments??
*
I think to get the brochure advertised fuel consumption, you need to take the car (any brand or car make) on the highway with minimal driving in town (stop and go) sweat.gif

Someone should compile and summarise all comments on their new Golf and Polo (and Scirocco) and post in the first or 2nd page when we go to Version 2!

It will be super helpful for newbies to catch up smile.gif
