Im still waiting fo my polo and it seems like forever. My SA said ill prob get it by next week

On another note, wut do u guys think of the current radio unit for polo?i think it shud be the rcd 210. Im planning on replacing it wit sumthing with a better spec. At least one which can accept iphone and auxiliary input. If not will suffer everytime hav to burn cd to listen my fav song. But my concern is on the warranty. Any suggestions?

Protecting the existing market is one thing, but to do that and forgo a larger, more sustainable future market share is IMHO not very sound business sense. One can take the example of the family oriented Golf Plus as an example; you can hardly see any on the road.

Anywhere else, a Veedub is just another 'people's car', but over here it is associated with performance n speed. If u take the fun out of a Veedub it might not sell as well, even if it's priced low due to CKD.

Existing owners might feel cheated if they do decide to assemble said models here, but in the long run if the brand grows substantially in popularity, the level of service may improve due to SCs having more experience dealing with problems, not to mention the cost of parts might come down. So in the long run, assembling the Golf, Roc etc locally could end up being a blessing in disguise.

Ironically, should VW become a mainstream player here, existing owners might also enjoy better resale value.

Looking at it from the logical standpoint; it doesn't matter to VAG whether we get the cars CBU or CKD, cos they still earn the same/similar for each car sold, regardless. It's the tax that we pay that makes it expensive. So, (example) if they can currently sell 50 units a month CBU, and projections show that they can triple or quadruple that with CKD, why not?

My technician at the service centre adviced me to not get too excited with the performance of my new car. Asked me to drive it around for about 2-3months first before pushing it. He's not afraid that the car might not be able to take the pushing... but rather afraid that noob like me might not be able to handle the power n speed. I totally agree with him on that.

really? around what time u encounter the speed trap before? speed trap means got road block also? like that dangerous lo coz ppl all speeding suddenly have to brake hard
i usually take it after work hours, either in the evening or night and so far *touch wood* never encounter speed trap b4

speed traps? on the MEX? i take the MEX to work daily and i've never noticed anything before (or got any tickets in the past 10 months)...

but yes, the MEX is a good place for banging out top speeds.

Erm.. I think the rear lights for gti are smoked/darker than the tsi's.

Btw anyone changed their rear lights to the LED ones? Cheapest I asked was 2300.

my roc is still doing the e-hak milik thing as my loan just aprove yesterday.. tomorrow puspakom inspection.. they promise end of this week will deliver the car.. still doubt it..

No need to pimp lor.... looks great the way it is.

Maybe change the front bumper with the foglamps. The round ones don't look too 'sharp'. I'm still saving money-money for future projects on my Golf.... But now tempted to get the XC60 or Tiguan for the family. So many things.... so little money.
