QUOTE(mafilee @ May 9 2011, 09:57 AM) If I'm not watching Keizoku 1 is it ok just watching SPEC?? WOW got Lee Byung Hun at Gaikoukan Kuroda Kousaku..exciting to watch although he just like cameo but still need to watch lorr..but another slow pace drama shud i just skip to ep.4 just watching lee byung hun alone...hehehe for school!! i agreed i also dun prefer the lead .. i always try my best to watch his drama..but most of it skip his part..i watched tobosha just because of Abe Hiroshi.. i watched Keizoku 2 without wathing the 1st one. i think its different set of casts, maybe a little relation between those 2 dramas, the team (solving unsolved cases). i dont think any problem to follow SPEC without watching Keizoku 1. i dont think Lee Byung Hun did any impact on Gaikoukan Kuroda Kousaku [2011].. just a 'star present', not an important character, just to make it more 'international' drama. im more remember that beautiful princess, haha..

anyone watching Rebound[2011]?
this is just my random pick. might give a go if people say its good. the theme are familiar (obesity, self confidence, fat girl become beautiful girl, later..). reunion with Hayami Mokomichi Zettai Kareshi [2008]. i suspect this drama will be going to the same path of Hotaru no Hikari [2007] (naive girl, fell in love, lack of self confidence, comical scenes here and there, etc)
i like Aibu Saki.. though she have punch-able face on Buzzer Beat[2009] (very annoying character, but somehow i think she's out standing)..

QUOTE(oxpigb00 @ May 16 2011, 07:01 PM) ^ Rebound reminds me of a HK movie of a similar theme, starring Sammi Cheng. anyways, has anyone seen any of the following jdramas? need comments first before picking my next jdrama. - antique - karei naru ichizoku- taiyou to umi no kyoushitsu Karei Naru Ichizoku, one of the best JDrama i ever watched. ill definitely put it in my all time Top 3. but, its not everyone cup of tea. the drama are bit intense and slow, but i love every minute of it. the end ending are superb (and miserable). i might re-watch it in the future.. Good Life [2011]
watched the 1st episode last night. i think it started well. an enthusiastic reporter (Sorimachi) facing a divorce from his (seem) irresponsible wife and left him in with their 6 y.o son.
but at the last 10 min, i believe this just typical human-family JDrama, nothing special. probably will be go the same way of Kazoku [2006]. slow pace, few heart touching moments, son-father powerful love, the mother change her heart later, etc.
having said that, i'll watch it further since i've copy of all episodes in my hd already..

Jin Season 2 [2011]
watched the finale few days ago. cant say its better or worse than the 1st. but i clearly prefer the 1st.
not much 'medical break -through' on 2nd season. much concentrate on history of politic and war, which i dont really understand.
the finale explain about the time slipping, and the explanation are total failure for me. still a decent finale. and they probably try to open possibilities of spin off /another seasons.

QUOTE(jayhan @ Jul 23 2011, 11:55 PM) Anyone watch other Summer season dramas? Any good recommendation? This summer has a lot of lad dramas which i skip them all lulz i probably try Tempest. its Nakama Yukie, and its period drama.. probably a very good combination.. The story takes place during the reign of the Ryukyu Kingdom (19th Century). Nakama Yukie plays Mazuru, a young woman who wants to complete her studies despite her gender restrictions, so she takes advantage of the disappearance of her step brother and disguises herself as an Eunuch named Son Neion, and passes the exam to be a royal govenrment's official. This is her first time having to play both a male and female character. Her supporting cast includes Tanihara Shosuke as her lover and Takaoka Saki as her enemy.

It loook like i'm still die hard fan girl of Sorimachi .. i still felt touch with his act..he skill of act still like before .. when he become dad or lover still i can feel the chemistry between him and the partner ... oh no I just love him so much... good drama indeed. but i think the drama was completed in the middle » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « when the boy is recovered, and the father know he's gonna die few last episodes are draggy. overall, not sapping much of my emotion. there's many sadder JDrama.. for autumn 2011.. i've a high hope for this 2 dramas..
Nankyoku Tairiku The story is about 11 members who were sent to the South Pole for the first time in February 1957 in a national project to explore Antartica. They were accompanied by a dogsled of 19 Sakhalin dogs. When they left for Japan a year later, they were forced to leave the dogs behind due to the bad weather. In January 1959, Kuramochi Takeshi and some others joined a third expedition to ascertain the fate of the dogs Taro and Jiro. Main Star: Kimura Takuya as Kuramochi Takeshi, Ayase Haruka as Takaoka Miyuki, Sakai Masato as Himura Haruhiko Airing Date: 2011-Oct-16
star studded, high budgeted, based on true historical story.. what could go wrong? but we know Kimura Takuya works lately always go south.. but still, i have a high hopes..
Kaseifu no Mita In the drama, Matsushima plays a mysterious housekeeper named Mita Akari, whose age is a secret and who is completely unsociable. However, she is perfect in her housework, and through her work she resolves hidden issues among the family members of the homes she is dispatched to. Despite her clients’ eventual wishes to keep her as a permanent housekeeper, she always moves on to the next job, where a fresh set of domestic problems await. Main Star:Matsushima Nanako as Mita Akari, Hasegawa Hiroki as Asuda Keiichi, Aibu Saki as Yuki Urara Airing Date: 2011-Oct-12
i always have soft spot to Matsushima Nanako. the first JDrama drama actress i ever admire. this probably woman-ish drama..

QUOTE(notoriousfiq @ Oct 31 2011, 09:11 AM) Shinzanmono was adapted into a Movie.. When watching Shinzanmono, I sometme feel its dragging, maybe long-winded, but it make sense, thats how the story is..it's not a one-off, standalone episodes. I wonder how its movie will do.. ive watched the series, but not the SP. the SP any good? involve a new case, or continuity to the series? the series are so-so.. Hiroshi Abe is the only reason i watched it, if other actor, i dont think ill put any interest..

QUOTE(avanpiper @ Dec 12 2011, 03:23 PM) Agreed but funny thing is, all I cared about in the drama is Mita (Nanako's character). BEcause I find the family problems really really ANNOYING. Like...I don't care if they never have their problems solved or how they'll end up to be. The father is really useless, has been since 1st episode, and worse of all, the eldest daughter too. I nearly gave up on the show, if not for Mita pulling me back. I think the high rating has to do with the fact that this is Nanako's first drama ever since she stopped acting to focus on her children few years ago. But I can't wait for her next drama Lucky Seven, with Eita (Soredemo Ikite Yuku), MatsuJun (not a fan of him but well...) and Naka Riisa. Sounds like one of the highest anticipated drama. agreed. Nanako made the drama very good. u should try Utsukushii Rinjin.. im not saying both dramas are similar, but very strong performance by lead character (Nakama Yukie) single handedly made the drama great.. im not watched many Jdramas, compare to early 2000s. probably only 3 or 4 per drama season, so probably 12 this year. but this year 2011, i could say only Utsukushii Rinjin and Kaseifu no Mita deserved to be called very good Jdrama in my book.. i read Lucky Seven synopsis, sounded like Lady (Kitagawa Keiko) This post has been edited by dundermifflin: Dec 12 2011, 04:41 PM
