Byond HDD. Everyday got this problem. My PVR also got problem.  sad.gif

check satellite signal entry point 15/17/18, these transponders are used to transmit HD channels, you should get signal quality more than 200, if not either ask astro to re-align your dish(I think will cost your RM50) or align yourself

seriously u guys never encounter laggy/non fluid movement watching all the hd channel? Anyone can help out??
*
yes sometime, lasted for 1 second, could be cloud interfere with the satellite signal, the less of the time HD channels are rock solid, programs flow are smooth as silk brows.gif

you can check your byond box satellite signal for measat 3A, these transponders are responsible for transmitting HD channels and they should have signal quality more than 200

Signal strength should not affect whether it's laggy or not. But then again I still can't understand what Laggy or non fluid looks like here. Laggy as in playing online games is something I know but never heard of in Astro B.yond.
*
sorry I should said to check for signal quality, if below par then will be problem, such as below 100, the forward error correction will not operate properly

you can't control the volume of digital audio, however byond remote control can be configured to directly do volume adjustment on hdtv or avr, read your byond manual

izzit worth upgrade byond to byond pvr? or just buy external hdd to record?
*
byond : record function fee RM5/month, single tuner only, need to buy RM260 external 320GB hard disk, no new firmware release for a while

byondPVR: record function fee Rm10/month, dual tuner, bulit-in 500GB hard disk, required 2 cables from satellite dish, latest firmware more stable

read the facts, then decide which one is more worth it

to much trouble to upgrade old astro decoder, they need to change cpu/ram/rom, also from dvb-s to dvb-s2

so there is no point upgrading old decoder, they already have byond decoder!

I think astro will eventually convert all decoders to dvb-s2, save lots of bandwidth, can pump out more channels in either SD or HD
