gimmicks as in marketing tactics just to capture the consumer's attention.
go for the BW normal. its a mechanical keyboard for an affordable price.
think about it, do you rly need backlight?
the amount of light from the monitor is alrdy sufficient for you to look at the board and type.
i would say practicality over bling. biggrin.gif

Get ultimate version instead? If you really want the backlit.

No point to talk about the polling, polling rate basically can describe as the usb transfer speed for the input device.
Means that, 1000Hz polling rate is means the response time will be 1ms. Anyway if say another keyboard's polling rate is 200Hz, do you think you are able to notice the different between 1ms and 5ms?? For me, i don't think so.

Let say u really can notice the delay because of the very low usb polling rate of any particular keyboard, then just connect it to a USB->PS/2 port converter.
PS/2 keyboard port is not work based on the polling rate, it can handle all the commands together, maybe up to 20 keys instantly after you pressed it.

Conclusion is:
Lycosa
No macro-recording
PVC wire (non braided)
1000Hz polling rate (as mention just a gimmick)
Backlit (just a bling purpose)
touch panel media control (look nice but less efficient compare to any other normal keyboard media control button, press the button is more faster than using the touch panel)
usb port, audio and mic jack

not really can get any advance feature

For mmo player maybe can wait for Anansi, otherwise BW should be best choice for mechanical keyboard with macro and backlit)

Partially maybe yes, but i think braided wire is definitely more durable than pvc wire.

yes and no.
ever experience your PVC cable become sticky and all those dust stick on it due to hot weather? that's why some people opt for braided because of that.

not yet with that~ but PVC tends to have cracks at the end near the connectors after a period of usage~ whistling.gif as for braided, it's really a dust magnet and if it's tangled it tends to stay that way~ wink.gif

I have been using PVC mice/mouse for many years, haven found any problem at the connector (unless you're tingling with it everyday).
Good PVC should give very sturdy protection even under severe usage, and the copper inside should be in higher quality to prevent tear even when bend many times, and that's the different between cheap and good mice brows.gif
Braided dust magnet, umm, might be cause of the bumpy structure that catch dust easily, like the wire sleeving inside the chassis.
But if the wire tends to stay at 1 way might be the PVC inside the sleeves, the PVC material is different from normal one.

... so much hassle just get wireless one la... LMAO doh.gif

True, but i still consider braided wire is more durable than pvc, since mentioned pvc wire near the connector there will crack after long term usage.
Braided wire is dust magnet but can be cleaned very easily by using wet cloth.

For normal wire pvc isulator is ok, but for thicker wire like wire of 7G and Lycosa, it is easier have crack on it after bending it.

if you top up another rm50. den you`ll be able to get the razer blackwidow standard edition. downside of getting the mechanical blackwidow standard, no backlight.

actually the price for alienware tactx keyboard is rm200 if bundle with alienware tactx mouse, which rm200 also. so, that mean, alienware tactx keyboard + mouse = Rm400. is it worth to buy? tongue.gif

from all the reviews I've read before, seems that TactX keyboard don't have enough support in at the middle, thus making it sink from time to time..

I've been to his shop before, but yet to purchase anything from him yet.

be wary of this BW sellers now. You might end up getting a parallel import BW, or maybe pre-order?

I don't rate mechanical keyboard that high, after all it's just "different technology" only. I can sense that some of the forumers here just follow mechanical kb's blindly.

well... the AW keyboard's membrane is just too soft IMO~ biggrin.gif most people who got it just for the aesthetics, but in terms of function, it's pretty average for a gaming grade keyboard with mediocre performance~ whistling.gif

btw, what's a parallel import product? ohmy.gif sorry for asking coz I noob~ tongue.gif

well... not to say follow blindly la... but it's a whole new kind of performance~ it's just like getting a high end Japanese tuner equal to a high end membrane keyboard then upgrade to a mechanical like a European exotic~
