I guess because too many consumers complaint about the LED emmiting too much heat, causing the palm to sweat.

when the imperator was released, the led was pretty dim already.
well, not exactly dim...but placed in such a way that it only looks bright from the top.
perhaps later firmware increased the voltage going to it etc, then they realised it wasnt a good idea

Yeah, that was my concern too. Well I do need mic for in game communication and ventrilo. Anyway I've been reading regarding SS Siberia V2, from my understanding, it too provide the on board USB sound card with it right? and the connector is standard audio jack. So basically, you can use it on say ipod and for gaming you can use the USB card right? If only Megalodon provide these options, since I am leaning towards Megalodon. Megalodon comes with the hard case, which I do thing essential for headset of that magnitude. My old head phones, patah edi due to transporting here and there. In terms of carrying it around what is your opinion on the SS Siberia V2?

i use siberia v2, cos like u already said for the 3.5mm jacks...mine doesnt have the usb sound card, i dont really care for it either unless of cos u got no soundcard on ur pc.
also the v2 / 5H mic is more sensitive and picks up better than the megalodon / carcharias.

megalodon / carcharias also comes with the furry fuzzy earpads, which picks up dust easily.
some like it, i dont.
and if u want the leather-like ones, u have to buy the replacement pads...v2 already comes with the leather-like ones.

mine is the latest, no heat for me too, as its off, no need the bling, only want the comfort ness of the mous

the latest firmware says they fix the lift off issue but somehow the problem is still there..
when lift off the mouse bout 5mm repeatedly, the mouse cursor will move downwards drastically

I pity my megalodon. Not only the same problem occurs even though i already sent to RMA it ( Blue led snake light went out just after 2 weeks on both headphone) but I can never fully utilize it when playing games as well since i bought z5500.

Can anyone recommend me any games that I cant test my headphone with.I want to try how good is the virtual surround
