Prefer the glossy white ikari laser & currently using it...
My black ikari laser logo has faded & the rubber coated surface turns darker & rougher...
Speaking of the rubber coated surface, I prefer Razer Mamba...
I think a 3 months old Ikari laser with black rubber coated surface is best in gripping friction.
After some time, the rubber become bit rougher because when it is new, feel like there is a layer of oil like product on the mouse to protect it but made it slippery.
The first day i used my Ikari laser, I can't lift it if holding with 1 hand, it will slip.

so for steelseries' case, their glossy surface > their rubberized surface?
I don't think so.
I preferred rubber coating.
Of cause after certain time, the rubber start to peel off. Before that the rubber might be absorbed too much moisture and becoming slippering and dusty also.
That's why for me, Ikari rubber coating maximum life expectancy is about 2 years+ only. This also the reason I sell away old White ironlady.
