yes its quite pricey. u could buy another 2nd hand 18-70 to repair that lens.

repair is about RM3xx or so. a price which leads to which a better option of getting a second hand one or to upgrade.. list of possible upgrades:

Tammy 1750 f2.8
Sony 1680 CZ
Sony 16105
Sony 18250

of course, it depends on your needs and your budget....

i would vote for bright lens like tammy 1750...if aperture control isnt so impt to u..maybe u can consider SAL16105...

price range shd b 1.2k~1.6k for these 2 lenses??not sure the price in msia..hahaz
