guys...for those who shoot in studio often..do u think that studio lighting stuff are harder to use compared to flashes??

i had totally no experience with studio strobes b4..but might need to do some product shoot in studio soon....and since i cant possibly get familiarize with those strobes at home first.....im afraid that i get kelam kabut during the actual shoot..lol

i tot a700/a850/a900 all got weather proof?...i saw a commercial video of a700 by korea do shows tat a700 is weather proof...xD
*
its not officially advertised as weather proof..
but to me..what are the chances that u'd bring your camera to shoot in heavy rain/snow/desert even sony tells u that its weather sealed....?? ppl can brag about their weather proof gears all the time..but seriously i don see us make use of it often..at least not for hobbyist like me..

that mean i need put one black cardboard behind then i popup my body flash one hand i holding my corbra then shoot? and is i using F11 can i shoot this kind of pic?
*
its a combination of your shutter + iso + aperture...F/11 alone wont do the trick..

u might not need a black cardboard at the back IF the space is big enough so that your flash wont light up any surrounding stuff..

i think built in flash could achieve..but the lighting wont be nice since u could not adjust the direction n power of your built in flash..

normaly what shutter speed and aperture use for this kind shot?

*
err..i cant tell u a "standard" setting for these kind of shots...basically i adjust my aperture depending on the DoF i want...if i only need a shallow DoF..i would use f/1.8~F/5.6(also depending on the distance of the subject to my camera) together with a fast shutter 1/100~1/200(my wireless flash cant go faster than 1/250 iirc)..

if u already understand the basic exposure triangle..just do few trail in manual mode..im sure u could figure out how to do it....

maybe just take note if your photo comes out dark/under exp...try not to adjust ur shutter as it also let more light from the background comes in...try to play with the flash...u can even flash twice on your subject if needed...just dont let the light spill to the background..

a850 wasn't good in controlling noise...compare to nex and a550
*
i also don think a850 does a good job in noise department..but to be fair to the camera..the megapixels are huge..obviously that would lead to noisier shots too..

shooting in Aperture Priority + TTL ??

any light at the back of model??maybe it was due to the metering??

if u are constantly shooting in same enviroment..y dont set your flash power manually?

testing...my flash....super hard to use!!!....u all using wat shutter speed?...my F42am "Python" set at auto mode..i using manual mode...in low light room..main light source only from windows with curtains lowered...need C& C!
bare in mind that nomatter u use 1sec or 1/100sec(assume the flash power is the same)...it wont light up your subject more..instead what light up your subject when u dragging the shutter speed is the ambient light....so if u want your flash to light up ur subject more..imo u shd increase iso or use brighter aperture..or increase your flash power

@ahpingko

the DOF is too shallow to fit your title.

all i can see is danbo. maybe you should at least include the sea or mountains or beach to fit the 'redang' title.

cheers. cool2.gif

quite hard, if tilt too much, the mustard will surely drip..

thats the challenging part ma..hahaha...perhaps put everything horizontally...and find sumthing to put at the bottom of them to make the background interesting..to just put a mahjong paper to shoot it in high key?? but again..it'd be hard to deal with the reflections..
