Wasn't there an option in the first game where you got abilities with NPCs based on how well your relationship with them was?

Anyway, Alpha Protocol did it first (Depending on whether they hated or liked you, you got a perk with them... Meaning, there was no point being neutral with anybody... Either be their knight in shining armour, or a downright bastard to them)

So far though... Pretty fun. Thought the game would be a wee bit easy in Normal mode based on the demo and started out on Hard... Very VERY painful. Especially since the game kinda balances out how the enemies are weak by constantly spamming them on you. Not nearly impossible in Hard, but quite a bit of work since I don't have more than one mage in the party yet and most of the starter skills are simply shit.

A lot of Mass Effect influences around like companion homes and not being able to speak to NPCs while on missions. Not really an issue, but it's there. Thank God they got the load times really short though since there's a lot of traveling between locations. That single gripe about ME2 almost put me off playing my second playthrough.

Enjoying it so far though as a rogue, but the shortage of talent trees that rely on Cunning (Unlike DAO that had that imba ability that used Cunning instead of Dex for damage or something) kinda make it a bit difficult to be an "effective" rogue. That being said, the rogue trees do look fun compared to the others. I might reroll a warrior just in case.

GuyHawke's voice is sitting quite well with me so far. Better than FemHawke's during the demo.

In DAO they only got one skill when they got inspired. Here there is an entire skill tree based on how they felt about you.

I start the game on normal, and it post a challenge to me because i do at first wanted to have a breeze game play just for the story line. But so far quite suitable la on normal difficulty.

Notice that "kiting" works very well in DA2. Drag injured to 1 side, and drag the 1 being "loved" most by enemy to run all around the map, and the ranged can simply slowly pick them off. Gotten through some of the fight without health potion due to kiting and waiting for cooldowns.

i playing the game on casual (easiest) and is enjoying the blood bath, gibs and gore flying here and there.

as a 2-handed warrior, i feel like i am playing the role of gatsu from berserk manga.

hmmm perhaps in the future some modding team can make a berserk mod for dragon age 2 ...

Hmm the combat is a LOT better, mages still too powerful though. The dialogue and facial expressions are more robotic than the 1st game.

What team combo are you guys running? notworthy.gif

I'm doing:
Shield Warrior (me)
2H Warrior (Fenris)
Mage (Bethany)
Ranged (Varric)

This combo is really easy at early chapters unsure.gif but I wonder if double mage (ala DA1) will be better?

One skill? wasn't it a whole skill line (Or rather one skill and a few other passive upgrades)? But yeah, I do understand what you're talking about.

for dragon age origins i think just attribute points bonus saja.
i.e. that companion gets bonus to strength, cunning, constitution, etc.

bethany is your mage? i would prefer to focus a mage solely on offensive or defensive powers.. Getting here and there will make you lose out on higher powers

i on normal difficulty, and i plan the mage to have fire element, and healing only. i prefer control my rouge for full aggressive atk, and my archer also. then my shield warrior as tank stick with mage. so most of the time i will be pausing the game to put my mage, tank and archer in placing. then i focus on my rouge only.

well i had one installed on the 2nd hard disk, yesterday i tried to boot from that hard disk but it boot disk failure so i installed again.

still switching back between xp pro / win 7 though.

at medium details, dx9, win xp pro, does seems smoother (60fps always) compared against fancier effects in dx11, very high details and high res texture pack enabled, dx11 when sometimes fps drops to 30 - 50 fps
