Frequent asked Questions:

1. Currently, all 3 telco as well as Apple Online Store is selling the iPhone 4. SingTel,Starhub and M1

2. iPhone 3GS 8GB is available on the Apple Online Store as well as Epicenter Singapore for S$748
*Units from the Apple Store as well as Epicenter for 3GS is Unlocked*

3. iPhones from Singapore apple store will only ship within singapore.

6. There are some users here ordered from Apple Online Singapore with their Malaysian Credit cards and the order went through.
*Do note: If you use any CC below, it does not guarantee that your order went through
The cards that went through is: Hong Leong, Citibank and UOB [Malaysian CC] & American Express[US Based]

*There are times your order get stuck. There are 2 possible reason. I have stated the alternative as to what you can do if you face the problem.
a) Credit Card Company doesn't release your payment to apple. Alternative: You can change cards or cancel your order.
b) Apple suspect you using credit card from overseas. Alternative: You can cancel your order or send in your documents
*Sending in your documents does not guarantee your order will go through smile.gif

7. After you Order, you will get an Acknowledgement letter from Apple. Followed by a Shipping Notification with a 10 digit tracking number from DHL Singapore when your order is ship. Then an Invoice stating your order amount have been charged to the credit card.
*Apple will only hold your amount from your credit card when you order from the first time. They do not charge it straight away*
-You can check the Tracking number from: http://www.dhl.com.sg/en.html

8. Address. When you order, you must use a Singapore Address aka Shipping Address[Refer to Point 3]. The billing address can be the same as your Singapore address(If you use Malaysian CC or Amex-Us Based). The phone number, you can put your contact's number in Singapore(Singapore Number).
*How about Malaysian number? You can try to put that. But I can't guarantee you if Apple/DHL will call you due to overseas number. laugh.gif

SG credit card? How come we cannot use a Malaysia credit card?  hmm.gif

And you guys are right, buy from App Store (Singapore), shipping is FOC, but they only ship within Singapore. Taking 1-3 business day.
*
Yes. Apple Singapore will only ship anywhere as long as the address is in singapore. Delivery is FREE!
Regarding the credit card. I am not too sure about that. From my purchase of the Malaysian online store
The transaction is done in singapore itself. So I believe you maybe can use Malaysian Credit card
For American Express(non maybank), you can definitely use it.

@azrinarizz,
Include the information in Post #1 so that when people ask the same question over and over again we can give them a piece of our mind smile.gif

@panasonic88,
But if they're selling it only on the Apple Online Store and not in the dealer stores, ur still not gonna be able to walk into an Epicentre or whatever reseller to get the iPhone 4.

It'll be great if someone who's got news on whether the iPhone 4's gonna be available at physical stores update us here biggrin.gif
*
The iPhone 4 is still unknown if it will be available at physical store. The 3GS is available but it is by Singtel and not Apple. smile.gif

@A4pApEr:
Prices for all 3 telco is still unknown or I have not confirmed the real details. I will do it as soon as it is officially out to avoid confusion tongue.gif

i'm actually aiming for a maxis contract which wud put the fone price around 2k.. eventhough waitin for maxis is really makin me restless. lolz. the singapore 32gb is so damn tempting. but i need to get info bout its availability in apple resellers. dun wanna drive there just to find out its not bein sold or out of stock  rclxub.gif gues ill just wait for interestin info bout the sing launch.
*
Regarding the availability. It all boils down to Singtel which is currently selling the 3GS 8gb(unlocked) units through Epicenter. If you are lucky, singtel might sell the iPhone 4 at a later date. I guess the nearest option for you right now is wait for maxis. smile.gif

I was planning to go down as well. But looking at all odds. Only way is through the online apple store. laugh.gif For now that is.

@Edoras,
I don't think you'll b able to use a non-Singapore-based CC as that's what's required by Singapore Online Store.
*
From what I was told by the iPhone 4 users during the last TT, they said as long you use American Express you can order via UK
I guess it also applies to Singapore online store. The American Express is the original one and not the one by maybank smile.gif

I have edited the first post for all 3 telco pricing.

ya la.. u must use singapore cc to buy from appl store.. wad i wanna know is whether we can buy it outright from epicenter if we go in with cash?? smile.gif suggestions? or any frens in singapore hu knows about this??
*
I don't know if you either don't read what people ask or just too excited. Let me put in simpler terms for you to understand. smile.gif

1. For now, it will be ONLY available for online apple store.

2. Epicenter, coffee shop or toy store DON'T carry the iPhone 4 at the moment! biggrin.gif

3. Telco only sells phones via plans/contracts and NO unlocked iphone 4 will be sold.

4. No one knows if Epicenter will sell the iPhone 4. The 3GS from Epicenter is by Singtel. Singtel can choose if they want to sell the iPhone 4 at Epicenter tomorrow, 1 month from now, 4 months from now or maybe 50 years from now. rclxms.gif

I called Apple Malaysia and spoke to 1 of the fella. He said, I can use American Express to buy the iPhone 4 and ship to singapore. The excuse used was, my son is studying in SG and I am from Malaysia. I would like to buy the phone for my son via online and ship to his house so he can claim warranty if anything goes wrong. laugh.gif

So I just tried to order my iPad camera kit via online store to test my American Express(Amex) and the process when through. I put the billing + shipping add to his house. They send an email regarding the camera kit and ETA is Aug 18. So I will see how it goes. tongue.gif

Bro.. oly American Express? Not others Credit card? I think the point is that they only ship within SG when u purchase it on SG Apple store online.. Same thing like Iphone3GS in HK..
*
I try American Express because it is the safest for me tongue.gif But the weird thing is, he said I can use ANY malaysian credit card as long as the shipment is within singapore before he put down the phone. I personally have not tried yet. So why don't you make the first move and see how it goes laugh.gif

@jonathan82:
Original amex and not the one by maybank tongue.gif I guess you can't tell the difference between amex unlike other cards

@azrinarizz,
And which particular AMEX did U use? U went through th SG store or the MY store? Sure or not it's the SG store?  ETA 18 August?! OMG that's like 3 minggu!
I used the green one which can also be used for Uk online store. Card is registered under US. During the TT other day, I asked the iPhone 4 users and they said you can't determine an amex if it is from UK,US,SG or MSIA. Most of them use Amex to order online. So I am just trying out by buying the camera kit and see if it works. Order went through. So I will try again this Friday and see how it goes tongue.gif Just trying out to clear my doubt as well as the others here as well rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

@vin_ann: I think you can do so. She can use the plan with another phone. But the iphone 4 working here, I am not too sure. smile.gif

Actually it is not from the normal store. When you scroll down the page, you see Education, International and Business
When you click business, you can see the select button and I guess you can do it from there smile.gif

Yes, like all the above said. Don't simply whack the post code. Put it same as your shipping address. Then you are good to go. If not your iPhone will be ended up somewhere else. You will have 1 big problem tongue.gif

forget about claiming GST, i heard that you cannot bcoz...
1st, online purchase via Apple Online Store will not eligible you to claim for GST
2nd, GST only applicable for airline passenger
correct me if this two points is incorrect  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Yes. From what I know, GST is only available for airline passenger. What airline? As long you fly out of singapore
If you drive car,lorry,motorcycle,bumper car,scooter,caravan or even boat on roads. You can't claim back your GST tongue.gif
GST is only available if you use your credit card and you claim by yourself. No on behalf of this and that person smile.gif

I went around the whole day today and no sign of iPad. All sold out. So you can try your luck next week. smile.gif

@inachi: Well, I guess his simcard was not activated. When I was using the iPhone 4 in singapore, I was using starhub as my provider.
No problems throughout my trip. rclxms.gif
