well, rizvanrp tried to warn them, but they stubbornly refused to listen. Now I wonder who they will blame? Riz? lol. Their management seriously has issues.

It would also appear that the later implementations of the fiber infrastructure has been total fail. I think those that were implemented in the current phase? I believe first phase users aren't experiencing this packet loss problem.

2 days Ago I fixed my voip by changing the phone number and password. Just now I rem the "jack" thing, but right now the real prob is I am not even sure what other setting that this culprit had touched as I do not have the original config backup for huawei to restore. The SIP console setting that Rizvan pulled is on fiberhome, not Huawei. I checked, didnt notice any other thing diff(perhaps I am still new on this area) but I still prefer to know whats an original setting of huawei suppose to be.

or probably would be nice that we have a security guide for all the BTUs

EDIT : because I dont really trust the original setting of BTU are secured.

The Huawei Base IP should be fixed (192.168.100.1 as previous image posted), I have temporarily disconnected my notebook (wireless) just have one single LAN connection from PC to Huawei BTU, but after reset, the IP address is still 169.xxx.xxx.xxx

When I typed ipconfig /renew; it stated the operation can't be performed due to bluetooth connection bla bla, even I off my bluetooth connection from my notebook, it's still show the same message, I have no choice to type in 169.xxx.xxx.xxx

Any sifu, please help. I wish to go to Huawei BTU page as my VOIP is still down and no one pick up my call from UNIFI hotline. Grrrrrrr.
*

Did you set your NIC card as static IP range? 192.168.100.xxx, 255.255.255.0 subnet as per the guide?
there is no need to refresh i didnt have to do that. Besides you also need to make sure only BTU and ur PC is connected, no other thing such as 615. i off my 615. just BTU and my laptop.

There is no way to protect ourselves because we cannot change any of the password, unifi, streamyxzone, voip.

I cant see a reason why is it soo hard for them to make a web UI for enduser to change their password.

Just lost all unifi services here in BRP, Sungai Buloh around 15:40 today.
Friend in nearby Damansara Damai also experiencing same thing.

Wonder if this is going to be an internet-less / phone-less raya ... ?

-- edit --

Phew! Everything came back to life 10 minutes later.
*

Same, got cut off entirely just now.

EDIT : and as a result of that I am back to packet loss issue again. *b4 this the line is perfect.

QUOTE(rizvanrp @ Sep 8 2010, 06:17 PM)
Anyway, I'm done checking out the Huawei Echolife (thanks seet!).

Obtained some really useful information.. the Echolife has 4 basic ports which are open at all times (and listening), TCP 80, 22, 23 and 8011. TCP 80, 22 and 23 and blocked from WAN/LAN access using an inbuilt iptables firewall. TCP 8011 however, is open at all times and I'm not sure what it's being used for.

As for this security issue, there's no real way to change the telecomadmin and root account passwords through the GUI... you have to download the config file, modify the password and reupload it. Haven't tested it myself but it should work. You also want to look at the 'services' passwords such as the telnet and SSH pass which is root/admin and change that too.

I did however get some info regarding how we can use our own SIP devices with Unifi smile.gif Will be working on that in a bit.
*

if I remember correctly, a tick enabled for telnet, under BTU. Not sure if I should disable it or not.

Did I miss out anything else?

Except for the unknown TCP 8011 service, hopefully the above can prevent the BTU from being "hijack" again, let's see how it goes .... nod.gif
*

Just fyi, if you remove the 'jack' @ screen no4, the 'jack' 8765000 number should not be appear on screen no3 anymore.(at least on my case because i remove earlier b4 this guide) However i still puzzled why we got 2 SIP entries, 0 and 1 (@ screen no3) hmm.gif

My 2nd LED also showing orange since day 1 or 2, it really scare me  blink.gif

As mentioned in TM DIR-615 (pic attached), the amber light indicated internet connection failed (amber - orange yellow), *touch wood* my internet still working well though.
*

When you are doing bridge mode, ur 615 internet LED is always orange.

In addition to my home VIP5, I have a BIZ20 with 5 fixed IP for my office. I was away when the BIZ20 was set up, and TM set it up pretty much standalone from my office network. The staff have been testing it out by using the WiFi on the DIR-615 so far.

BIZ20, paying RM899, they still give u home router 615. sweat.gif doh.gif

Now Astro also tak boleh tahan and started to venture into IPTV business ... tongue.gif
I'm really hoping the day when we just have to use that GPON for all our multimedia needs  nod.gif
*

Only if they lease TM fiber network. because I am in TM network lolz.

if they offer something like top up RM20 u get IPTV for existing Astro user(means can view Astro on IPTV + decoder together), that could really kill TM IPTV, if they are on this HSBB network.

Still want to increase somemore??
I was really hoping Astro to reduce since they don't have to shot to sky anymore?! brows.gif
*

no if my parents can watch astro on decoder and I can watch the same time on IPTV. i pay that Rm20 anyday and dump TM after 2 yrs from now

TM Unifi IPTV is really FAIL, even their TV channel schedule on website is not up. How can u expect me to check out the programs I want to watch?

bro, u sure the 34 names confirm wants the switch since the list was started not too recent right?

Maybe best to pm the earlier listed names just to be sure

I think there is not need to worry about lol, in a while time it is unlikely TM gonna replace that silly 615. A lot of new unifi users signing up gonna fill up those FFK buyer quickly after they know their 615 playing tricks on them smile.gif
