U can get a pair of aztech homeplug (Rm99 each) to replace the cable. It's work great to all of us so far.

I am trying to use HP procurve 1700 managed switch instead of Microtik. Damn HP told me the lead time for the switch is 2 to 4 weeks... really sian...

Now i am using the DIR-615 as VLAN bridge. I know the dlink already hang as I can't even open the dlink's management web page but the VLAN bridging seems to be working even tho the web page has hang. So I just keep using it and hope it does not get worse.

Yeah... I thought they would enable the firewall.... man that also they didnt do it.... the same day itself I have adjusted the settings according to Riz's...

i hope dd-wrt would come out with vlan tagging to control... then i can flash it to get both iptv n internet running smoothly =)
*
you can try this if ur router fall under the support list.

I have successfully configured Microtik RB250GS.

Very simple and seems to be better than PPPOE on BTU Hua Wei

Solved all my Port Forwarding and NAT issues too.

Got someone to pickup from Soliton . SGD59.

If you need the contact. Let me know.

I have asked if they will send it, they prefer us to pick it up and carry across the border.

But networking equipment is taxable.
*
hmm... how much u total pay in RM after tax ?? last few week they got no stock. already got stock in their store now ?

I think if you're carrying only one, you can open the box, carry it in your luggage and say it's for personal use. They will normally let you through. If you have 3 or 4, then ... sweat.gif

for bt upload, easilly hit max speed of 2.2M Byte/s if I don't limit the speed.

For direct download sites, avarage about 120K Byte coz I am only free user.

QUOTE(klseet @ Sep 9 2010, 10:52 AM)
For RB250GS potential buyers, Soliton already informed us stock arrived few days ago:
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=36141665

I've roughly estimate the costing as below:
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=35878372

So in summary, if you cash & carry from Soliton SG, the price is SGD59, you may claim back the 7% VAT while leaving SG.
My suggestion only bring the item without the box, so you can say it's your own used computer items should the border custom ask.

If we compile & group our order to deliver to KL, it would be considered as export out of SG, so there is no VAT and the cost is about SGD55
+ say estimate averaging shipping cost SGD4 total about SGD59, exclude potential custom tax [about 10% for network equipment??]

On behalf of you guys, I've spoken to Landasan, no indication whether they will bring in or not, but it really sound to me that they will not bring-in unless they have thousands of order.

I've also discussed with Soliton, they are ok for us to tell them what we want to write on the shipping invoice, also whatever the cost to appear.
So, we may consider writing some rather unclear description like "Computer Accessaries", say with SGD20 per unit or even lesser only??

In fact, the sales guy Yitong, is waiting for our confirmation, this batch they have 100 units only and seem to be selling fast .....

If you guys willing to bite the bullet @ estimate SGD59 with the hope no custom tax, I can assist to arrange on behalf.

If you guys want to cash n carry there or individual order to ship to KL, you may always contact Yitong directly @ +65 6245 0962
Just mention you are from Malaysia LYN forum and recommended by Mr.Seet will do.

Cheers!  thumbup.gif
