quite far from kafu and the existing commercial precinct in P. Utama. The commercial precinct in Bukit Puchong that's a little closer is not that ong at all, and is mostly offices and workshops.

The world's gone upside down. Yesterday I stopped by at the new Tesco on Old Klang Road, and parked at P2. Then I had to pusing pusing to find my way back to the car park, ended up in P1, walked down one level, and found myself in P1A, and the stairs stopped there!!! Panic, try and look for another staircase or lift that would get me down to P2. Pusing pusing. In the end, found out P2 is above P1. rclxub.gif

P2 is above P1 ma  tongue.gif  cause it is above ground.
If basement, it go down in B1, B1A, B2, B3, B4 ... B18, Hell.

By that logic, P1A should be above P1 mah, not below!!!

Had a go at the reopened Asia Café just now. In my opinion, it is very much still the best FC in Puchong for environment and ambience. The parking is also good. Went with the first stall that I saw, selling Arab Food. Had the Chicken Kabsa with rice for RM8. It consisted of a huge portion of rice with six hefty chunks of chicken and a couple of chunks of potato. The chicken and potato is cooked in a kind of dryish curry thingy, with cinnamon, cardamon and clove being the dominant spices. The thing came with 3 side dishes: a serving of savoury mung bean stew, some slightly tart brown relish thingy, and a small dish of a yoghurty minty relish - damn chili hot wan. Quite good value for money and taste OK. The portion is so huge, if you go with GF, enough for both liao. But I went straight from the gym so one person sapu all without any problem.

Haha, must be careful at how you behave at Muslim food stalls. This is what happened to me on Monday at a fruit/drinks stall near Subang Airport:

- Bagi satu gelas air kelapa.
- Bungkus?
- Minum sinilah
- Tak boleh minum di sini.

Expected mah, pasar ramadhan were got glass and plates....some idiots i see, mostly students and city kids will eat kuih and ayam golek/panggang/percik while walking along the shops...dunno how to think wan. Blame education and schools with more parent segregating their children into chinese/Indian only schools...my time, ppl more tolerant, so you dun cook pork when you invite Malay frens to yr home for dinner or open house...

Anyway managed to tapau nasi kerabu earlier..since 7pm, got extra rice for normal price...now full of carbs  rclxub.gif

Just came back from the worst new wave kopitiam ever, Hainan Tea across the road from Maybank Bandar Puteri, near Giant.

The menu had a picture of thick slices of wholemeal bread with generous dollops of kaya and with thick slices of butter in between, stacked up in a few layers. What arrived were two thin slices of wholemeal bread, with a thin strip of butter in between you can barely see, and kaya spread so thin as to be practically invisible. RM3.50. The chicken curry set with a wholemeal bun was awful. The chicken was tough, the curry uninteresting and the bun soft and mushy. RM7.90. The chüchiongfan set came with a couple of pork balls and a piece of beancurd skin all slathered in an awful sickly sweet sauce. The chüchiongfan itself was mushy and sticky. RM5.90.

Tea is RM4.50, coffee RM5.00, more expensive than anywhere else apparently.

The revamped, renamed 222 kopitiam in Bandar Puteri has a stall selling the stir fried Singapore Prawn noodle. Saw it just now when I went for my regular looicha fix - not open for breakfast, so couldn't try it.

UPDATE: Tried the prawn noodle just now. Not bad. They use lots of lard.

Tried the siuchau stall at Three Plus Corner in Bandar Puteri, across the road from Giant and at the other end of the block from Anggerik Kuring.

The stir-fried mee sua was quite good.

There's a thread on this going on now http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...9466&hl=puchong

Actually, what do you guys think if this Tesco Puchong really closed? Will it affect you guys in terms of convenience? I am hoping there will be some higher end grocer coming to Puchong, where you can get more imported/ organic/ niche goods and foods.. I think Puchongites are ready for this  biggrin.gif
*
Aye aye to that. I wouldn't mind a Grocer 33 in Puchong, or Mercado, or something similar. I hardly ever go to Tesco. The only thing I really need Tesco for is their cat litter. The cheapest in town. miau miau.

In many ways, the Chinese in Malaysia are more conservative and cling on more strongly to some aspects of traditional Chinese culture than our counterparts on the Mainland. The urban Chinese in China and Taiwan live in fast changing societies. Before and after the May 4 Movement in China, and all the way to the present day, we Chinese have been questioning the very foundations of our culture, and especially on the Mainland, rejecting many aspects of the culture we have inherited from our long history.

The Chinese on the Mainland have plunged headlong into naked capitalism and taken on board many aspects of Western culture. At the same time, there are groups within China as well as Taiwan and Hong Kong who are trying to rediscover and reaffirm the ancient roots of Chinese civilization. Have you ever seen photos of people on the Mainland walking about in shopping precincts dressed as if they were in a kungfu movie set? That movement is becoming more and more widespread and is catching on even here amongst a very small lunatic fringe.

The younger Chinese here especially are very much attuned to what's happening in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and even Japan and Korea. Very likely we will follow trends in these places, in terms of traditional culture, pop culture, social mores and worldview, and it is unlikely we will ever voluntarily give up our language as a medium of instruction. For the record, it's not just banana kids, it's Malay and Indian children who are enrolling in Chinese medium schools in record numbers.

When I look around me in Puchong alone, I often can't help thinking to myself how very Chinese a place it is.

This have been circulate quite sometime. You can brought this similiar and work longer without troublesome at ACE. Plug to the socket and you can trap as much as you can.
*
I have a few of those mozzie traps from ACE. Unfortunately, the fan motor breaks down very easily, and you'll have to take it to the distributor to get it replaced. Very troublesome. But it works. Going to try this DIY thingy. Got tons of yeast! The yeast will continue to feed on the sugar and multiply and produce CO2 for some time. The CO2 attracts the mozzies. That is one of the ways they are attracted to humans - our breath.

Mind still work find. But the fan have sound already. The violet light have been change once. Still can trap a lot of mozzie.

Try taking the fan out and cleaning it and spray WD40. Sometimes dust and stuff accumulates inside the fan and cause it to jam.

I've been using the Rex mozzie trap , recommendations from folks here previously.

Jalan non-stop 24x7 since day 1 , i've replaced 4 light tubes. Motor still can run just need to spray WD40 periodically to eliminate sound. Housing need to dust off periodically too.

Other than that works fine & effective.
*
I went once to get the motor changed at the service centre at Sunway. Costs RM20.

Puchong Sentral? Mati lah, traffic jam going from bad to worse.

Anyway i prefer Tesco remain at it is, i am frequent Tesco customer.

Don't think i'll be using much LRT at all once finished. Maybe once a year???
*
Wah if they open a Puchong Sentral, then they damn well better have bus service to KLIA and LCCT. Then everybody untung lah.

I too won't be using the LRT much. Maybe if got more Bersih rallies I will use it to get to the city, but anyway, after the next General Election, no need for Bersih liao. rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif
