i already fill the form to upgrade my cool uni pack from rm38 to rm88 (4mbs) he tell me need wait for 3days..if i upgrade can i downgrade?or can i cancel the upgrade?
*
Nope. You cannot downgrade your packages anymore unless your contract already end. If you still want to downgrade your packages, get ready to pay the penalty fees of RM600 plus your remaining subscription months to TM. For Unipack, the contract will be 2 years from the date of service activation.
I don't really sure about cancelling the upgrade process, maybe if they still not process your application to upgrade, probably you can cancel it. BTW, if your area cannot support 4Mbps streamyx after technician come to do some line test at your home, and in that case, TM allowed you to cancel the upgrade process... Or maybe they will insist to upgrade your application, but to the slower one like 1Mbps which will be costs RM68 per month...

easy if no 4mbs i cancel the upgrade..right?
*
Yes... if your line and your port cannot accept 4Mbps, they will cancel your upgrade.
If they asked you to upgrade to 1Mbps (for example), don't bother to take it biggrin.gif

Hi guys wanted to ask,

My dad subbed a RM38 384kbps package last year November for me to use, I ve tried multiple times to upgrade my line to either 1MB or 2MB if possible 4MB. TMpoint rejected my application saying uni pack isn't allowed to change speed...Is this right? I ve talked to them for a very long time and they didn't entertain me, telling me that uni pack isn't allowed to modify speed.

I am stuck with 384kbps and annoyed as hell at the moment with a contract bonded for 2 years and not allowed to upgrade the speed.

Taipan TMpoint, I live in USJ Subang. Has anyone experienced this or anyone could help me regarding this?
*
Actually, different TMPOINT will give the different answer to you...
They seems not having a some kind of "standard" regarding their services...
Maybe you can try to go to another TMPOINT and asked them to "change" your speed from 384 to 4Mb....

If i want to change the speed, I still need to fill in any form?
*
Yes, the same form as the Unipack application, but the officer at the counter will tick UPGRADE instead NEW APPLICATION...

I m not at home from 9.30am - 7pm for weekdays, possible to reject technician visit? I can check the speed myself...
*
No... for Streamyx HSI (High Speed Internet, which is 2Mbps and above), the technician MUST come to your house to check the condition of your line...
If your line are not qualified for HSI, like SNR Margin is way too low or Line Attenuation is way too high, they will cancel your upgrade immediately.

Your SNR Margin must be more than 15dB while line attenuation must be below 40dB

You can directly deal with the technician for the installation appointment...

QUOTE(JustForFun @ Aug 28 2011, 09:50 PM)
Dear CUP users, I decided to "change speed" to 4MB after TM capped my DL at 1MB (1MB users used to enjoy 1.5MB speed...) but I have a few questions here:

1) It seems that some of you are not getting the full 4MB speed... and I'm worried that I'll be getting 2-3MB and pay for the price of 4MB, so can I "change speed" to 1MB if I find out that I'm not getting full 4MB?

2) If I do the upgrade, will they ask me to return the modem? Cause I actually lost it sad.gif

3) I read through the thread and found that I need student card/IC for the upgrade but do I need to show them the cards or I photocopy them and get them certified by my college?

4) Do I need to get the form to be certified by my college also like first registration?

Thanks for the help biggrin.gif
*
1) Since MCMC has stated that every ISP must provide at least 80% of the subscribe bandwidth to the local loop, then if you do speedtest, and get about 3.2 - 3.3Mbps is considered as a normal situation. In my case, maybe I can said that i'm just lucky, the technician cap my port to 5Mbps, and I got about 4.1 - 4.2Mbps when i'm doing a speedtest as well as HTTP (not torrent) download...

2) Nope.. they will not take back your old wifi modem, instead probably they will give you a new one... Depends a lot on technician. Some technician if they see that you already got a wifi modem, they will not hand in to you the new one... But there are also some "kind" technician who will hand-out to you the new wifi modem...

3 & 4) In my case, no photocopy of IC, student card and endorsement letters from college are needed when i submitted my request to "change" speed... They just asked me to fill some form (which the same form for the new application of unipack, but they tick at the Upgrade option)

Shud i decide to upgrade to 4mbps, do they still have the original CoolUni form to tick the 'upgrade' box?...or they are now using a new form for it?.. hmm.gif
*
Last time when I applied to upgrade my speed, they still use the existing form.. It was sometime around early this year... around February if I'm not mistaken... Yes, they will ask you to tick at the 'Upgrade' option instead of 'New'

if you have upgraded your package that mean you need sign the package for 2 years and cannot terminate in two years time?
*
Yea... your contract will be renew again to another two years starting from the day when you get your new speed...
But I don't really mind for that since I only need to pay RM88 for my 4Mbps which has been served me very well... thumbup.gif RM140 vs RM88.. and you got a free netbook some more... nothing much to shout about... notworthy.gif

Hi guys,

I'm currently using CoolUniPack 1MB RM68/mth since Dec 2010.
I just called TM to enquire whether able to upgrade to 4MB RM88/mth or not. But the customer service told me that CoolUniPack is unable to upgrade/downgrade until the 2 years contract end.. T___T

can anyone here confirm is this true?? i want 4MB sad.gif
*
Then why most of us here can simply upgrade it without any problems at all... including me...
Just go to any TMPOINT near you and ask them about this matters... Mind you, different tmpoint will give a different type of answer to your question. Some will say can upgrade, while some will say totally cannot... Depends on your luck... rclxub.gif

alamakkk!!!

i just upgrade to 4mbps RM130 laaa..

can i change back to 4mbps cool unipack?someone can comfirm to me ?

damm..waste moneyyy
*
Wooooo.... I don't think you can revert back to Cool Unipack package...
But if I'm not mistaken, those who are using Cool Unipack cannot simply upgrade to the standard BBDeal packages.., as stated in the E-mail that I wrote to TM long time ago...

Thank you for contacting TM. Firstly, we would like to apologise for the late reply.

Perhaps, as I said before, this is due to they didn't have a uniformity for the operation of TMpoint around Malaysia... Or we can say, they practice the 'decentralize' management.... whistling.gif

well how to check when will my unipack contract ends? the price will back to normal? RM130/RM140 ?
*
1) Call 100. Usually two years from the date of your streamyx activation. Streamyx activated on 10th April 2010, and your contract supposed to end on the 9th April 2012.

2) Your price will be remain the same even your contract already end....

Anyone who has already reached the end of their contract can help answer this?

Will my bill be raised to normal price once my contract ends? Anyone with more info on this matter?
*
Nope... you still will be charge with the current monthly subscription even thought your contract already end. It is stated very clearly in the FINE print on their FAQ section (If you still keep the brochre)...
