Don check online. Go to the store directly. I got mine from 3 for sim free. £450. Oh.. aik.
*
does a sim free phone from 3 also means that it is unbranded? Or do I need to de-brand it still? coz I have an AP set N95 8gb which I de-branded after firmware flashing it coz it only spoke italian after firmware flash! lol

sometimes i just couldnt control myself. =D try to imagine, you are using DHD, then your friend started to join in the android group and you introduce him the Nexus S (let say), seeing him with a 1.2Ghz(let say), and 4.5"sAMOLED(let say), a very great build with a nice camera and xenon flash(let say), and finally, because it's google's stuff, gingerbread or honeycomb or ice cream or jelly or Kxxxxxx or Lxxxxx or whatsoever, his phone has updates first than your DHD (let say again and ignore XDA first. LOL)

then for sure, my heart will be itchy, but i dont know how you guys will feel. LOL

personally speaking faster processor, more RAM better software bigger screen im ok with. but personally i dont give a hoot about camera installed on phones. like the nokia n8 12mp cam...i mean seriously the picture from phones just plain suck from even the best phones....just saying whistling.gif

Reading from all you mates' comments I think most of us are already ready to forgo DHD  biggrin.gif
Well I followed this thread from the start as well, wait wait wait and wait.
Until now I've decided I will not buy DHD anymore, and I suggest you guys to do the same lol  tongue.gif

Double confirmed the date DHD will launch in Malaysia, received the email reply from SIS.
By middle of December 2010 I think we're going to get a few new phones announcement already.
So far the weakness and cons of DHD already make quite a disappointment, somemore the delay of the launch, I would say DHD gonna fail in Malaysia.
I'll list some of the DHD cons here if you haven't know.

- Short battery time [Biggest flaws on the device]
- The sim card compartment cannot be put back perfectly, it will leaves an unpleasant gap [Although there is a solution posted in XDA, people who aren't aware of it will still suffer]
- Camera still weak compare to same level of phones (SGS,Ip4) [Well you can argue on this one]
- Washed out LCD [Not a problem if you don't really mind about the screen]
- Pop out design of the camera is quite stupid
*
yeah same here actually. fire in me for the DHD also almost mati liau. wait too long liau, if there is any phone launching soon as long as 4.3" screen and slightly better spec in same form factor i am ready to consider it too.i have been reading reviews and initially i tot the phone can at least last whole day,but now looks like it cant...big big problem for me then.

the specs for the phone is there i think and the design seems ok. but its the OS leh... i know it looks plain and simple, but i dont think i will do plain and simple within the first few months. I am more of a "information overload" person. i like it having a lot of stuffs. biggrin.gif

LTE phones should be launched in early 2011 rite? it prob be a really good reason to skip DHD since it wouldnt support LTE anyway. When LTE is launched here I think the resale value of the DHD will plunge.

I bet it's because the Malaysian market is small.
*
if it is small den a small shipment should be too difficult to secure rite? i mean a shipment of 10000 pieces shouldnt be too difficult for early adopters like us im sure 10k units should be sufficient for the past and next 1-2 months

EDIT: Speaking of the devil: Eric Schmidt shows off a Nexus S at the Web 2.0 summit

patience guys. the old desire also took 3 months to get to xbolehland...so if we calculate 15 Sept DHD launch - should get in 15 Dec. smile.gif

we are at xbolehland la - everythin oso 3 months slower geh - even ip4 launch at msia oso at sept wat.

so even if we wanna wait for Nexus S which was rumored to be released at Q1 2011, by the time it reach xbolehland oso Jun July liao.
*
i would advise strongly against being patience with HTC/SIS, mainly coz the time between the Desire and Desire HD is only 6 month, so with the availability only 3 months after launch dat means u only have 3 month before it becomes obsolete. i do see HTC actually releasing a Desire HD successor within the next 6 month, using at least Android 3.0.

DHD was launched in Asia on 8 Oct in Taiwan. On 15 Oct they had a private event in Msia to launch it as well.

But here we are, in the middle of November with December coming soon, and still we can't buy the phone.

Seriously, what is the point of having an official launch for a product if it's not even going to be available for another few months?

And what's worse, for Malaysia, we don't even have a clue when it will be made available.

This is just very sloppy marketing work.
*
I strongly second that!

Bad enough that HTC launched a phone that they couldnt not supple... compounded by SIS who cannot even give their willing customers an estimated ETA.

By the way I received an email from SIS yesterday. they said the DHD - and I quote "stock is EXPECTED middle of December". yup they still dont know when it is coming in to Malaysia for sure. Compound by the fact christmas is around the corner where supplies maybe redirected to western countries for their holiday sales.. dont be surprised we dont see the phone this year.
