Hi, im planning to buy an O2 in two weeks time. I did checked out the price today at some shops at Low Yat plaza, it's RM2,388 everywhere. But I want to ask:

1) will I get cheaper than RM2,388 if I pay CASH?

2) some shops told me if I want to get an extra battery, they can offer me for RM100 but others said RM200++ per piece. So, which one is true? I mean what's the market price?

3) will the battery last long? Cos I really talk a lot on the phone due to my job & will the battery drain up fast if I activate the bluetooth for almost one whole day? Is getting an extra battery necessary here? Or should I get a car charger instead?

4) last time when you guys bought it, did they offer to give screen protector for FREE? If yes, what brand is that? Is Martin Field the best brand?

5) most of the shops said they wont charge me for installing software that could read chinese but some of the small (like stalls) will charge around RM40++ for that software. Which shop do you guys recommend? I prefer a bigger shop such as Digital Gadgets but of course Im looking for the best service too.

6) can you guys recommend me a bluetooth headset which is suitable for someone wearing glasses? I mean the one hanging on the ear is not an option for me. A shop recommended me FLAMINGO but I dont like it. It's not much different from HELLO II.

Sorry, I forgot to ask them the above questions when I was in Low Yat this afternoon. So, I was hoping you guys can answer me. Thanks in advance.

as far as i know the price for martin fields sp is standard rm 50 rite? that's the price tat the main shops are selling it for....

hey kean i dunno if anyone has asked or u have posted the answer already....just like to know what actually is this big storage about?

I was trying to find the thread in lyn for ya but too bad i couldn't locate it. The Big Storage basically is to remove some unnessary files which store in your mini and eventually make your internal storage increase from 7mb to 26mb.

So you can save most of your programs in the storage instead of the main memory hence will increase the performance of your mini~

Hope my brief explaination will help and if you need more info, try do a search @ mpc wuth the keyword 'big storage mini'

My answers will be in bold.

1) will I get cheaper than RM2,388 if I pay CASH?
Not sure, I guess this depends on your bargaining skills as well.

2) some shops told me if I want to get an extra battery, they can offer me for RM100 but others said RM200++ per piece. So, which one is true? I mean what's the market price?
An original battery, is around RM 200+, or so I was quoted many times. Double confirm that its an original battery you're paying for.

3) will the battery last long? Cos I really talk a lot on the phone due to my job & will the battery drain up fast if I activate the bluetooth for almost one whole day? Is getting an extra battery necessary here? Or should I get a car charger instead?
Depends on your usage. I used to switch on BT for approximately 8-9 hours a day, during working hours. And the battery can last me approximately 1.5 days. But I don't want to have a flat battery in the middle of the day, so I charged it everyday. A car charger would be good if you're always on the move.

4) last time when you guys bought it, did they offer to give screen protector for FREE? If yes, what brand is that? Is Martin Field the best brand?
Most will give, but definitely not MF. Although they might offer you a MF screen protector if you add a nominal fee. MF is among the best of screen protectors.

5) most of the shops said they wont charge me for installing software that could read chinese but some of the small (like stalls) will charge around RM40++ for that software. Which shop do you guys recommend? I prefer a bigger shop such as Digital Gadgets but of course Im looking for the best service too.
Digital Gadgets has very good after sales service as far as I'm concerned. It's a very important factor for me when I choose which place to purchase my devices.

6) can you guys recommend me a bluetooth headset which is suitable for someone wearing glasses? I mean the one hanging on the ear is not an option for me. A shop recommended me FLAMINGO but I dont like it. It's not much different from HELLO II.
Try looking for a Sony Ericsson HBH-200, a semi-wired BT headset, that comes with a LCD for caller ID purposes.

The above is just my observations from using the Mini. I apologise if there's any facts wrongly stated.

Thank you, Sonyclie77.

I've been searching for Sony Ericsson HBH-200 for a few months already but couldn't find anyone selling it. All of them said not in production anymore. I wonder if it's true. Do you know any shop selling it? Thanks again.

babyk was organizing a bulk buy on the HBH-200, but I'm not sure if it's still ongoing or not. You might want to PM him to find out more.

I get that too but once after a very loooooooooooong time sweat.gif . You'll be typing in maybe 70 alphabets and then suddenly you see "71/2 message". It normally occurs when I've just hard reseted my Mini. But after that the problem would not occur again. Im not sure what it really is but Im not saying its directly linked to the Hard Reset issue. It must be a bug in the system. tongue.gif

P:S...
Anybody here using Wisbar Advance Desktop and Wisbar Advance 2 for their O2 Mini's today screen? Have you encountered any problems so far using it? whistling.gif
