now seems that Torres looks certain to leave liverpool already.....I think torres leave is not a bad news for liverpool, as the transfer funds can boost for RH to restructure the team, so that next season can be competitive for top 4 standing....
Rather than now, keep torres, but current squad still not competitive enough for top 4. It will be different story is liverpool change owner, which this will not going to happen currently..... |

I doubt the money will go into the transfer kitty.... Most probably on around 20-40% will go in and the rest straight the Yank's bankRather than now, keep torres, but current squad still not competitive enough for top 4. Torres is certainly becoming a legend. Becoming the fastest striker to achieve half a century. Remember? Faster than anyone, Dalglish, Fowler, Rush..
If he goes, life goes on. It's not the end of the world. So many great players have left us and we, LFC is still LFC. |

Why, ppl speculating already about him leaving. I read a comment before, the media loves to speculate our player leaving even after they had said they are staying put. the media needs something to write, that's all. Nando is staying.

Results wise we may achieve top four if we sold Torres and use his cash to buy a lethal striker/s (Huntelaar? Remy? Forlan?) and a good full back to support the players upfront (Ziegler? Figueroa?), and another dangerous winger (Arda Turan?) or at least anoher creative player who can give us some cutting edge up front (Van der vaart?)
It's not the end of Liverpool if he goes, but it's just so exciting to watch him play and I hope he stays for life. For me, LFC is not 100% about results, its the excitement and passion when watching players like Torres play brilliantly. |

i think maybe these few days, liverpool going to have official annoucement, either on torres or the new owner....
If these day come to true, macherano and torres leave, i think liverpool have the good chance to reinforcement in player, and have capable for the title challenge, seriously...... |

Mmm the more I read, the more it resembles a transfer market on Fantasy Football. The mood is without emotion.
I've always subscribe to the belief that no player is bigger than the club but at the same time, I have come to feel as though Torres was going to be a part of the club for a long time to come. After watching the video hosted by Michael Robinson, I was sure that Fernando Torres would go down as a legend in Liverpool folklore. After all he inherited Dalglish's chant, before the Torres bounce was developed. The sight of him shaking hands with greats like King Kenny, Souness and Sammy Lee in some ways convinced me that he would be a permanent fixture at the club for years to come but alas, it would appear that it was pure fantasy. The Torres song is the best one for any player in a long time. It has to be the most sung in recent times and it's contagious. Pity some never took the initiative to learn it's lyrics. Come on guys, it has to be near and dear to your heart, no? Back to the point. This is a player that to me was destined for greatness snd it devastates me to think that he may be leaving. In the short time that he has been wearing the red of Liverpool, he has demonstrated the tenacity, heart, professionalism and work ethic becoming of a Liverpool player. He has above all, shown not only respect, but a deep appreciation for the fans. Sure we can buy quality players from the funds we'll raise from his sale, but we are not guaranteed a player with the same attitude. This post has been edited by Duke Red: Jul 26 2010, 02:50 PM |

I'm sure he does appreciate the fans but his heart is still first and foremost with Atletico, not Liverpool.
He's said to be disillusioned because he was told that the club was sure to find new investors which we haven't. He has admitted that we are still a few signings away from being title contenders and although the acquisition of Joe Cole is a welcomed one, he's a replacement rather than an addition. Same goes for anyone else we're going to sign it appears since we have to recoup money before we can spend it. Couple this with the fact that we've just finished 7th and aren't in the Champions League altogether and the future doesn't exactly look as bright as the one he was promised. The fact that Torres left despite his heart being at Atletico says it all. He is an ambitious young man who wants to win things bad enough that he left the club he loves. If we can't give him the assurance that we'll be competing for trophies, he's bound to go for sure and I for one, do not blame him the slightest bit. |

It will be a huge tragedy if Torres leaves. No player is bigger than the club yet, but i cant recall Liverpool letting go a player at the prime of their career, with exception of Ian Rush. This boy loves Liverpool, understand the fans and has proven himself to be a huge success in the EPL.
Use his money to buy 2 strikers? Buy who? Heck, you can bring in Kaka, Forlan, Villa or anyone else to Liverpool. there is always the question of whether one can adapt and score goals in the EPL. Its fair for fans to expect one more season from Torres. Even Roy have openly declare that Liverpool must find new owner soon. If we still fail to qualify for CL or win anything, fair enough, have your move. But with a new coach, new players, why not give the Kop one more chance? No, i wont trust the Yanks with 70 or 700 millions. Not them. Come on Nando, give us one more season please. ONE more season. If Roy, Cole, and the whole club turns out to be a disaster and shame next season, fine, have your move. This post has been edited by nando: Jul 26 2010, 05:25 PM |
