I've solved HTC Sync problem with Outlook by using Syncroid! Great app to use when HTC Sync is not working.
Tested on HERO running on FroydVillain1.5.0

There are some Chinese songs that my music player cannot display the name(came out all the weird characters)... Any ideas how to fix this?

Hmm..it seems that the new SH was giving me some problems with GPS, or its just me. Locking was definitely fast.

Problems while the car is moving...in PapaGO, even though it locked my poisition, it shows me where I am and then just stays there even though I started moving..

Hi guys, am getting a second hand htc hero. Switching to it from a samsung jet user. Hopefully it would be a better experience.
anyway, anything to look out for htc heroes faulty parts? any prone faulty areas or any area that need to be noted?

Anyone tried VaniallaEclair 5.0 Rom here? I feel it is quite smooth already, stock ROM will be even smoother?

Added on November 12, 2010, 6:48 pmAfter trying all the roms i feel eclair without sense is best on htc hero.. smoothest so far.

VanillaEclair 4.0 is the fastest ROM among all, whereby VanillaEclair 5.0 has better interface but a tiny bit slower. HTC Sense really hog the phone. Using ChocolateEclair (has sense UI) the remaining RAM is about 40~50mb... whereby using VanillaEclair it has about 80~90mb RAM left. Those Froyo rom's does not have smooth UI effects, tested almost all of em including cyanogenmod rom.

At last back to VanillaEclair 4.0 smoothest so far.

If I were to revert back to 2.1, It would either be The 'Tegro' Slide Expresso port or VillainRom 12 . Sense is a must have if I go back to 2.1..Miss sense so much...the dialer..the rotating style of picking time in the alarm clock! Sense widgets, slider menus~!!

But, in 2.2..really increase phones functionality, Chrome2Phone, Move apps to sd, JIT and 2.2 games, 5.x mflops!

So what would be best for me right now is a perfect Sense Froyo rom

After awhile I'll for sure to get bored of Sense again, and go back to LauncherPro hahah! It would just be a vicious cycle

i just recently flashed MIUI rom on the desire, and oh my it is lovely. iphone-like lovely with all the android goodness. now using CM on Hero feels a little behind. i really hope someone will port MIUI to hero. cant really do it myself.

i doubt hero hardware can support? HAHA

Is it just me or... I feel the SMS/MMS app in CM nightly is quite laggy, it's annoying.

I flashed WWE 2.1.2 rom today after nandroid bkup of my cm6. Miss sense so much! Sense can not be replaced by LPPlus, adw or zeam!
Everything is so smooth but no froyo apps2sd!!

I used HTC Touch Diamond 2 before.
Well, I think the touch screen is quite resistant.
So it doesnt really finger -friendly as IPHONE.

Hi everyone,
i am new to android. My bro's HTC hero is running software version: www.HiAPK.com 1.0_g3_sense. It is a custom room I guess after google around. Now I want to update to 2.1 Eclair where i download it from HTC webpage. After searching around I dont really understand how to flash or root the phone o.O

My question is can I straight away update to that version of do i need to restore back to original version( 1.5 cupcake) and then only update to 2.1? Does Nandroid back up the contacts too? Or just the software only. Can anyone help me here?
