Im currently using VillainRom 12.0.0 Build Number, Firmware version: VillainRom9.0.0
Does any one of you having problem with battery draining very fast? I like this Rom but its battery usage really bad... I usually off my wireless/3g whenever not in use and Kill Task every once a while..
If I continue surfing net playing with my Hero for almost 1 hour... The battery will go from 100% to Yellow or Red ....

Any tips? is it because of this ROM or my Battery charge until rosak? How long usually can you guys play with ur hero.. using browser/ youtube etc.

I just bought SwiftKey. Awesome keyboard, I think it's better than Swype.

Using Elelinux 2.2 SE, but now experiencing bad battery life. Not sure is it the apps I installed.

Is there any battery program to monitor battery usage?

I used to flash custom ROMs. But they all had disadvantages.
- Poor battery life
- Bloatware I didn't need (e.g. Wavesecure, 3D Gallery)
- APNs not configured for our region
- Did not work with HTC drivers (especially unofficial Froyo ports)

In the end I removed the AmonRA custom recovery, flashed original 1.5 ROM and updated to HTC Asia android 2.1-update. No root or anything. For customization I just replaced the Sense Home app with LauncherPro.

Battery life is great now. I still have 50% even after 2 days of use. My APNs are now all properly automatically configured and I can debug properly using Eclipse.

-Bloatware?? You can remove any apps as you wish with rooted phone..i dont see it is a problem.
-APNs ? i have no problem at all with all custom rom. Yes, some custom rom didnt came with our contry setting, but theres alot of free apps can restored your apn, i always keep a copy in " APN Backup & Restore " , its free.

Im not sure with battery life, you may right...cos im never running official 2.1 update.
But my hero with froyo can stand 2 days with heavy use.. but what i heard that froyo had better battery life compare with eclair.. i donno know...

And there are many good apps just for rooted phone, eg. Titanium backup. I dont see any backup apps out there can compare wit.. root explorer, my fav file manager, i can decide my apps installed in system or data as i wish..

I don't like taking the time to remove via adb. Plus the official ROM has Touch Chinese input with handwriting recognition. A lot of the popular ROMs are based on European updates and exclude it.

Don't need to flash custom ROM to install Titanium backup. I just use UniversalRoot.

remove stock or system apps via adb is just one of the way, you can do it with root explorer or titanium backup just with one click smile.gif

for chinese input, yes, i gotto admit that HTC stock input r the best, but so many 3rd party apps out there, i found out "pen power input" quite good too..

For Eclipse, i cant help .. tongue.gif

whats ya develope?

I'm pretty satisfied with floyo 1.01 by erasmux smile.gif calibrated battery, 51% now after 20 hours.
Few hours with wifi, few calls, mass SMSing, still good !
Using flykernal 11 smartass governer 176-614. Could go up to 710, but i feel its not needed, burns battery faster.
LauncherPro Plus v0.8.1.0 rare FCs, gave up on task killers, i just use the back button now happy.gif

I once thought of going back to VR12..but I would miss all the new stuff on froyo..JIT, chrome2phone,speed!,5.x mflops,customization..
I do admit I miss sense sometimes..

But Froyo > Éclair smile.gif

yes i did full wipe before flashing the new rom...and i've tried few times already...
i'll try elelinux then...i actually liked FV1.5 but the FCs were giving some annoyance...

I also became very paranoid of my battery. Everytime I surf the net on my phone for about 30 minutes, my battery will drain 1~2% and I would go WTF!?!?! not knowing that the battery life is much better than iPhones icon_rolleyes.gif

Same to playing games..drains battery a lot.. Listening to music & playing videos doesn't seem to hurt battery that much though cool.gif
