Seems like everyone is waiting for 5XXX series to drop price so that can CFX them.
For me, the 5870 is sufficient for now. But who knows, if the price is tempting then might buy another one loh.

The problem with cheap monitors is that they lack flexibility. The S2409 can't do portrait mode, so you will always be stuck with a very wide view. The U2311H would be a lot more flexible, as you can better adjust the monitors to your liking.

As for worth, depending on a lot of factors, maybe.

But if you are on a tight budget and don't mind waiting another long year, I think the HD 7XXX might be more worth it, as it will also have a process shrink. If you want more bang for your bucks, buy the HD 6870 asap if it looks reasonable.

Maybe they change the naming or should I say the numbers. But no official word yet from AMD.

Remember 6000 series is meant to be a refresh line and Nvidia is also planning for a refresh in the next couple of months.

It won't be on the 28nm, only the HD7XXX series will be on that die.

Bad news for you, it seems like they delayed the card until November. But dont know whether it is true or not, only October will find out

It will be on October just the date has been push back from 12th to 18th Oct.

Fast fast make 5870 drop till 1k. Then i can crossfire it. 

But now if you can check the garage sales, still not many people selling 5000 series though. ( I mean second hand). Which means everyone is still waiting for the 6000 series.

My fan speed is at 50% idle if you look back my previous picture.
I mean I set the underclock at 150mhz , fan speed 80% still 58'c .I tested running at 300mhz with 10% fan speed also the same 60'c.
Which mean either the card factory temp is working at 60'c or either my casing less air flow until it stay at 60'c even it set 10'c fan speed = same , down clock = same .

So conclusion , either change casing or apply those gel into the graphic card but I dont know how to disassemble it 

now please remind me again about 6770 position? better than 5850?

i got this 23" acer on 1920x1080. i want to make an eyefinity setup wif 2 non-wide 1280x1024 monitor. gpu is 5850.

is this possible?
