QUOTE(empire23 @ May 8 2005, 05:34 PM) land rovers are abit cheaper because they dispense with the city comforts, like leather, dual gears and all the city driving crap. range rover instead are armed for both rough and road terrain, since the suspension is variable and can lift or lower the car at command, plus the traction control system can adapt to road conditions. the range rover also had a few adjustable systems for road handling like stability control, load balancing and some other crap lah. drive one myself, can't say i'm dissapointed about anything besides my crappy 5.0 kmpl FC, although expected, my pocket is taking a beating. Land Rover is the company name, Freelander is the cheapest (2nd cheapest after Defender) model from Land Rover. QUOTE(c0c0nut @ May 8 2005, 10:04 PM) AMG tuned G55, supercharged engine 476 hp at 6,100 r.p.m. and 516 lb.-ft. of torque from 2,650 r.p.m. to 4,500 r.p.m., putting the 2,550 kilogram (5,621 lb.) G 55 into the same league as some world class super cars. 0-62mph in 5.6 seconds. Top speed is an electronically governed at 210 km/h. |

QUOTE(c0c0nut @ May 9 2005, 01:53 PM) I've heard news that thousands batch of Hummer recalled to the factory due to wheel come off from the spindels. Very dangerous. Check via google.com.This post has been edited by SupermotoXL: May 9 2005, 08:46 PM |

I didn't read every single post so forgive me if I said something that has already been said. Here's my opinion. I'm driving a 2001 Ranger myself.
1. Ford Ranger (older model) - Tends to have problems with the clutch. Got mine changed at about 80'000k's. I'm having problems with the clutch pump valve too. My mechanic suspects that it's too near to the engine thus being too hot. Rear axel tends to give way prematurely with heavy loads. Not sure if they have addressed these issues in the new Ranger. 2. Hilux Vigo - More spacious interior. Lacking an intercooler but better fuel economy. Can't fit a bull bar and go off-road due to the air bags. Don't like the clutch pedal. Too darn high. 3. Frontier - Lacking of a limited slip differential. That's why it's cheaper. 4. Defender - Good non-rust aluminium body but engine is pretty expensive to maintain. Most avid offroaders with a Defenders just keep the body and change the engine + gearbox. Nothing about range rovers, pajeros, prados as they are in a different class. |

depends on how you look at it...
if you are driving it then good lar. cos you are much taller than other cars... bad point is since you are quite high sometimes enter parking got bit problem lar... i am getting Hurricane... both Hilux & Hurricane are comparable... Hilux = DOHC but 100 hp with One AirBag Hurricane = SOHC but 121 hp with Dual AirBag i am getting a canopy. and mine is Yellow colour. what's yours ? |
