QUOTE(mywii @ Apr 1 2013, 11:39 AM) Always hear people say LED consumes less electricity. If I am using the track light with 4 LED at 5W each, am I using 5W or 5W x 4= 20W? Should be more, because you have not measure the wastage from the driver. Give or take 5-10% for the driver, reall good driver with correct voltage usage can have minimal losses of 5%. Cheapo China branc can have 10 to 15% losses.

QUOTE(craftsnknots @ Apr 2 2013, 12:00 PM) I want to ask what sort of bulb I need to buy for my exterior fence and wall light? The bulb that came with it blew within a week when i only turn on 1hr for 3 days. I changed to Osram but that also blew..My electrician came and said because both top and bottom in covered, the bulb burnt easily. He said need to buy better bulb but didnt say what type or what brand or anything.. Can somebody tell me which type of bulb and brand they use if they have similar type of light or just recommend a bulb that I can try.. You need to tell us what was the original bulb? and the Osram too. Is it halogen or old incandescent light?

QUOTE(Mirror_man @ Apr 4 2013, 04:07 PM) LED light does not produce UV leh... so the plants still can photosynthesise? Being in the business what I can say is just don't go for price on the LED products. And not all china LED is no good. The pricey ones are reliable, but then ppl will say why u spend so much for china product. But really please get a good, reliable LED otherwise you will be saying LED sux and not worth the change. It is worth it but the product needs to last for more than one year... Even CFL not producing UV, it should work. But than like you say LED need to be reliable and brightness need to be maintain after one year of operation. I am more interested to the forumer who claim LED T5 is 80% brighter than normal T5. if that is really that bright it really possible to solve my aqua plant

I think Sylvania, and osram are related in the global. Not sure is the same Osram product they selling to you. If everything are original as claim price look good. Not sure of YET quality.
Osram have T5 1ft? From my last search usually they only bring in China unknow brand. The branded T2 usually 2ft, 3ft and 4ft.

The 10buck cfl design like a paper. Very fragile. Invest a better design cost only 30-40+ inclusive good cfl bulb and ballast. Much solid and easier to install.

QUOTE(slackinux @ Apr 6 2015, 10:57 AM) Hi all, does anyone has experience with normal T5 vs LED T5 ? Does LED T5 also generate as much heat as normal T5? Currently using normal T5 at L Box and feeling warm seating below the L Box. Any comment? What is the distance between your L box and you? I have around 12 units of T5 in one L box rectangle area, I don't feel the heat when switch on for long hours. This post has been edited by weikee: Apr 6 2015, 11:02 AM
