As for the Lannisters, yeah, the dwarf was the most favorable character of them all, ALL Lannisters are arses and biatches except for him, at least on the first season, and he's got guts, straightforward no bullshxt kinda guy, plus a bit of humor.  I like it when he slaps Joffrey (a.k.a THE PRICK)

Tommen is a better Lannister with Baratheon under his name as well.

QUOTE(greyshadow @ Jul 21 2011, 01:21 PM)
can't wait for next season to see The Imp to wrack havoc as The Hand of King thumbup.gif
but would the King forgive and forget The Hand that slapped him? brows.gif rclxm9.gif
IMO, when Robert is still around, the court are still manageable, at least it's just between the fake old fart vs double crossing little finger vs double agent eunuch vs stupid honorable Ned which is no contest.
but now it's all hell with the addition of The Imp and the crazy King rclxms.gif

The Boy King is not much a threat to the Imp but the Queen. They really hate each other. I can't wait to see how it'll turn out.

Bought a value pack consist of the first and third book for $13. Seems a great value when my sisters take interest of the series when they read the books. Just in time for the start of the series on HBO Asia next month.

Please do yourself a favor and DON'T watch it on HBO Asia. It'll be censored.

It seems Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) has been nominated for Emmy outstanding supporting performance . I hope he will win it. He deserved it laugh.gif

"because of this stupid thread.." <--- lol no one forced you to click smile.gif

"u cant even predict the whole series..... " <--- That's what makes it so appealing. Predictable shows are boring

The books are way better because the content is obviously more. There's only so much they can fit into 10 episodes.

yes, if they fit everything in the series, it won't be so few episodes, there are so many characters in the books that didn't come out in the series, it'll be more than 40 ep (even 50 ep) for season 1 if they fit everything in. but i think they really did a great job capturing the essence of the book but not screwing it up by changing too much stuff, the series really kept the originality of the book in some way, even (most of) the script was brought over and that's a huge plus for me

and once u started reading, u can't stop! icon_question.gif pull me out of my chair NOW!!!

Both series takes place in a medieval settings but that's where the similarity ends. GoT's content is a lot more mature, grittier and even disturbing than arthurian setting. It's more a political drama than it is about magic and action. But that's not to say the series is lacking any of those elements, far from it, when it does showcase those elements the end product tends to be a sight to behold imo. If you like complex characters, elaborated yet twisted plots, then you'll find GoT irresistible. To top that off, it also boasts a cast of brilliant actors, captivating dialogues and authentic set designs. Give the pilot a go and take it from there.

IMO, Sean Bean's performance are so so only, kinda disappointed with him
other character's performance a way much better than him, my fav is the Imp and the queen, they really bring out the characters from the book, even added some extra touch wink.gif

got what u're saying! the other char was well done.
Eddark Stark was fairly easy for Sean Bean actually.
Anyways, still cried when Eddard beheaded
(i always cry when they were wrongly assaulted/punish/set up, yeah yeah dont start about it, im a sucker for these roles XD)

And i agree. Arya Stark was superbly good. I missed the sword dancing teacher..
Cant wait to see the next season, especially arya, bran and Jorah mermont and the three dragons!
